I have bounced from Rudy to Mitt to Huck, but now I’m settling in on Fred. Hunter WOULD be best but for some reason he has never gotten started. Fred seems to me to be Rudy and Mitt without the baggage. Rudy has made his and Mitt has unfairly been saddled with his, but they both have heavy bags nonetheless. Fred is looking better everyday. If bloomberg runs Fred will have little trouble beating the beast.

I may disagree about him being best but he sure as hell isn’t the worst choice by a long shot.

I’ll put him in the top two.

Very nice...Would make a good bumper sticker with a little resizing. Nice sweatshirt logo, too!

Wow, what a well written article. Assuming this is not the “fault” of his editor, Mr. Wax will go far.

Writing about McCain: “But he alienated social conservatives by championing campaign finance “reform,” and he kicked conservatives down the road on judges with his gang of 14 ‘grand compromise.’”

Plus he never met an illegal alien he didn’t just love.

And this is a great line about Mitt: “Mitt’s positions also seem more political than principled.”

Nailed it!

FRed BUMP!!

I don’t know why Fred isn’t showing up better on the “polls”. I am juat waiting for the dust to settle before I make up my mind and I think most people are doing the same.

After a brief enthusiasm for Romney, I am now totally disillusioned, and have decided that Thompson is my final choice.

“After a brief enthusiasm for Romney, I am now totally disillusioned, and have decided that Thompson is my final choice.”

I’ve gone in the opposite direction. I have chosen Romney, with Thompson as my second choice.

This is an excellent article (After flirting with Huckabee, it's clear Thompson is best choice for GOP), and I hope everyone reads it.

And not just because it's pro-Fred. But because it shows the thinking of many good people when they initially supported Huckabee.

This writer needs to be commended not only for seeing the light and shifting his support to a true conservative, but for making it very clear why he supported Huckabee in the first place.

I thank him for that, and will henceforth be more careful in my criticism of Huckabee voters, hoping that many others will similarly see the light, and understanding they may originally have had good reasons for choosing Huckabee (though those reasons are melting like an ice cube in boiling water).

You can make all the points on policy you want (most of which I agree with and some not) and Thompson's principal handicap remains: On television, when asked to speak extemporaneously, he appears old, halting, and unclear. What I saw on Fox this morning was definitely uninspired.

Do you like Romney’s current abortion position or his historical one?

For what it’s worth, Rasmussen now puts John McCain at the head of the pack nationwide with 17%.

For me, this means that more than ever the field is wide open, and there is no reason for you to settle for second (or third best). Stick with Fred.
