Why we stay mute on Islamic sex apartheid
The Australian ^ | December 07, 2007 | Pamela Bone

Posted on 12/07/2007 7:15:31 PM PST by Dundee

...Hillary Clinton last week urged President Bush to call on King Abdullah to drop all charges against a Saudi woman who had been gang-raped at knifepoint, then sentenced to 200 lashes...

...I would like to be able to say, good on Australia's own famous feminist, Germaine Greer, who spoke out passionately in defence of the young woman... except that she didn't.

...Greer: "Well, it is just very tricky to try to change another culture. We let down the victims of rape here. We haven't got it right in our own courts. What good would it do for me to go over there and try to tell them what to do? I am just part of decadent Western culture and they think we're all going to hell fast and maybe we are all going to hell fast....

Behind Greer's comments is the dreary cultural relativism that pervades the thinking of so many of those on the Left. We are no better than they are. We should not impose our values on them. We can criticise only our own. The problem with this mindset is that, with all its faults, Western culture is clearly, objectively, better...

Muslim feminist groups such as Women Living Under Muslim Laws are raising their voices against the misogyny of sharia laws but, with some honourable exceptions, there is no rallying by Western liberals against the gender apartheid under which women in large parts of the Islamic world live...

Is it the fear that by speaking out they will become targets of Islamist threats too?

...More likely it is... the great fear of being seen to be critical of Islam, of being seen to be racist, as if race had anything to do with it...

Odd that so many old feminists think racism is worse than sexism.

I would like to be able to say, good on the thousands of Western feminists who rallied across the world for the cause, except that they didn't.

Crickets chirping was the reaction from the left. No mass protests, no decrying sharia law as evil, nothing.

The NOW NAGs have nothing to say about Islamic gender apartheid. Go Google their website. (sound of crickets chirping)

Much like all the feminists who remained silent when it was revealed on national TV that bill clinton had raped Juanita Broaddrick.

Ah, well, no doubt that was a different culture, too. The Clinton Culture.

Feminists believe it’s OK to lie in order to “lynch” an African American male who happens to be a conservative (Justic Thomas) but think nothing of letting millions of muslim women who suffer physically and who suffer mental illness because their men follow Mohamed’s directives.

Spot on! Both the feminists as well as the Arabs have a double standard!

Their silence in regards to Islam is abhorrent.

The single most damning view of NOW
is the deafening silence toward the treatment of women
under Islam. I have no tolerance toward their
cowardess in this respect. The internal inconsistence
is unacceptable, given their stated positions

we should force them to watch this, then, perhaps NOW, and other man haters would sign up to kick some ass over there.

warning, very disturbing.

I lost all respect for these feminists groups after I saw how they continued to admire Slick, knowing what he’d done.

Feminism is just a way to power for these women. There is no advantage for them to speak up about muslim women. All they would get is angry muslim men who just might want to kill them. Screaming bloody murder because a man in the U.S. looked at them funny however brings in the $$$ from government grants to study the problem and nitwit girls on college campuses get to feel angry and discriminated against. Plus, more or those nitwits will pay for the feminists to speak at their colleges.

The feminist movement has almost nothing to do with women’s issues these days. Like the civil rights movement and black americans, it’s merely a power grab and hanging onto influence (and lucrative positions in the organizations).

We agree but not on Arabs...it’s the muslims who are psychotic...many Arabs are Christian and do not suffer from the cult’s madness.

Thanks for the link.

I am aware of many of these vicious inhuman practices by Muslims from first hand knowledge ie from the victims themselves right here in this country!

I hope President Bush did not need Hillary Clinton's urging to call on the Saudis to at least pretend to be civilized. Any culture that would punish the victim of a horrific crime instead of the criminal is sick.

A Western feminist is a woman who says she can have kids without marriage, and that makes her superior.
A Muslim feminist is a woman who asks to have a choice in who she marries, and please don’t kill her for asking.

More like demands that she kill her offspring before they are delivered..and even after.

A muslim feminist? -—dead woman walking.

A Muslim feminist is a woman who asks to have a choice in who she marries, and please don’t kill her for asking.

This incredibly cowardly statement tells you all you need to know about the real agendas these people have. It's an epiphany, a rare moment when you can see the man behind the curtain, so to speak.

North Korea executed a man in a crowded stadium for making international phone calls. There was also a silence.

Liberals are not what they pretend, I think the internet is going to show the truth to a lot more people, except in China where Google and Yahoo will help hunt down dissident.

The Feminists are about only one thing: destroying the institution of marriage and taking the task of raising children from a loving couple to state run masters who take directions from social engineers.
