The Phony "Right of Return"

Under international law, there is no such thing as a right of return. If your ancestors left France, or Russia, or anywhere else (regardless of whether they were forced out, or they just wanted to live somewhere else), then you have no right of return to France or Russia. Nor do your grandchildren.

Nevertheless, UNRWA tells the "refugees" that they have a "right of return"” to Israel—that the grandchild of someone who moved to Tel Aviv to work as a janitor from 1946 to 1948 has a right to live in Israel, and to take back whatever real property their ancestor abandoned when he left Israel.

The pretext for the claim of an "inalienable right of return," is General Assembly Resolution 194, which says, "the refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date..."

In fact, Israel did allow one hundred thousand Arabs who had fled the fighting to return to Israel.

The Palestinians are the only people in history to be placed on a permanent international dole - UNRWA. I can safely predict they will find a way to reject a Palestinian state. It would mean having to give up the trappings of victimhood and a parasitic lifestyle funded by international taxpayers. That they will not do.

No different than the “indigenous peoples” invading us from Mexico and farther south whose ancestors never set foot here have a right to invade us and place a claim on US taxpayers to the tune of $ 20,000+ per family/yr.

I think every American should declare himself a Palestinian refugee. It would break UNRWA's back in short order.

The wording is clear enough to me. The emphasis shown is an essential condition for the application of Resolution 194.
Clearly, the muslims occupying Israel for the last 58 years have never satisfied this condition, nor do they do so today; in my opinion, they never will.

If they would stop teaching their children to murder people, perhaps they would not “suffer” so much. One does not build a decent society with killers, It takes construction workers.

Just a thought...

A bit different, these "indigenous invaders" come with C4 and rifles.

UNRWA tells the “refugees” that they have a “right of return”” to Israel....

as always...(part of the charter)....the UN demonstrating the unbridled anti-semetic anti-Israel bias....

this will no doubt....move the peace process forward!!!!

Sorry, must not have been clear. The UN has stated that our "indigenous invaders" have a right to ignore out borders and squat here even though none of their ancestors ever set a foot in what is now the U.S. = The UN's claiming that the "Palestinian" people have a right of return to Israel.

Don't be surprised if we crack down (not likely to happen) to find our invaders equipped with C4 and rifles, and sending exploding homicide bombers to public places, etc.

Over half a century later, UNRWA's annual budget is nearly half a billion dollars, including nearly $150 million from US taxpayers.

America's naive good intentions in providing billions for UNRWA, while Arab governments contribute only a pittance, has obviously not bought America good will in the Middle East.

Let's see, I'm forced to shell out my tax dollars while rich petrol Arab KINGDOMS, NOT GOVERNMENTS don't pony up a nickel

Yea............

This article is right on target. It's criminal that the Arab states didn't grant these people citizenship and instead kept them cooped up in these squalid "camps." It's a gross violation of human rights and the UN is complicit.

The only reason for this is to cynically ruin the lives of the refugees to establish a permanent pool of support for war to try to destroy Israel.
