Thirty-Five Undeniable Reasons To Be Thankful For Rush Limbaugh
The National Ledger ^ | 11/20/07 | Chris Davis

Thanksgiving is here! Many people are preparing for that feast of turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie. Some are packing clothes and making plans for their flight or drive. Others, though, are spending time with friends and family, recalling the fond memories of better days during their childhoods.

But most conservatives, however, are gearing up for that once a year visit from their liberal Uncle Phil or Aunt Sally. Amidst the conversation, they'll be forced—through dirty looks from their spouses or a gentle hand placed on the knee—to ignore the claims of the illegitimate war in Iraq and how we should withdraw the troops.

They’ll suffer through the incompetent ramblings that Hillary Clinton will be the next President of the United States. They’ll be forced to endure the braggadocios liberals that dare to point out how much better off we would be had John Kerry won the election.

They will, however, persevere, knowing that there are things for which they are truly thankful. They will remind themselves of family, their health, and of better days to come. They’ll have another glass of wine, anticipating the upcoming elections and a conservative victory.

And for most, their thoughts will turn to their favorite conservative radio program, their conservative values, and their chance to vote at the ballot box again.

I will turn on the radio and listen to the true story of Thanksgiving, never forgetting that it has been nearly four long years since I wrote the essay: Rush Limbaugh is “The Passion.” His continued labors in conservatism have shown that Americans support the conservative ideology, largely because of their guiding principles, not the vehicle behind that ideology.

In an excerpt of that essay, I wrote: Everyday Rush withstands the assaults, he strengthens my resolve to praise him more and more. The more the liberals bash Rush the more I salute him. The more they harangue him the more I respect him. They cannot, nor will they ever, break my obstinate resolve. Instead, they have only succeeded in convincing me how corrupt, phony, and merciless they really are.

With Rush on the radio, I continue to conquer day after day, living in conservative principles, consumed with the fiery notion of my new life. I rebuke liberalism with special thanks to my educator. I love the life I have earned, as I pursue success after success, and eagerly wait another broadcast day of “The Passion.”

Those words ring as true today as they did then. He continues to be steadfast in his approach, remaining on top of the radio world. Never has he been so popular. Never has he been as strong as he is today. Never has he been so steadfast in his conservative zeal. He is supported by Americans, conservative Americans that share those same guiding lessons he handed down. I am just one American that has been thankful that Rush Limbaugh took to the radio airwaves, and for pulling me from my liberal tomb.

There have been many reasons for thankful on Thanksgiving, but there are thirty-five undeniable reasons to thankful for Rush Limbaugh. Those reasons are:

* For enacting the new media and galvanizing the conservative movement.

* For the EIB Network.

* For advancing conservative talk radio and supporting hosts like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin and others.

* For proving that rugged individualism and self-reliance make Americans great.

* For proving that you can become wealthy through hard work, perseverance and dedication to success.

* For uncovering incompetence in the Palm Beach County Attorney’s office.

* For overcoming addiction and continuing broadcast excellence.

* For effectively explaining the benefits of tax cuts.

* For refuting liberalism on a daily basis.

* For hammering environmentalists and their defense of the Earth’s fragile ecosystem.

* For demonstrating that conservative principles are those principles that represent the majority of Americans.

* For supporting our troops and becoming a patriot, espousing America, representative government and freedom.

* For touting that Ronald Reagan was the greatest president of the 20th Century.

* For reporting the truth about Iraq.

* For blaming terrorists for murder.

* For reminding people of September 11, 2001, and that we are winning in Iraq.

* For promoting abstinence.

* For explaining the simplicity of punishing criminals.

* For explaining that America is the wealthiest nation on Earth and that our poor our not really impoverished.

* For demonstrating time and again that throwing money at education isn’t working.

* For stating, “There is a God.”

* For no longer “carrying the water” for Rhinos.

* For writing the “35 Undeniable Truths of Life,” and for airing that on the radio twice.

*For The Way Things Ought to Be and See, I Told You So.

*For defining MORALITY.

*For having far more compassion than his is given credit for.

*For laughing at himself, dispelling the myth that he is an elitist.

*For Rush Limbaugh the Television Show.

*For reading the true story of Thanksgiving.

*For touting the economic recovery through tax cuts and job creation.

*For being an enemy of Hillary Clinton.

*For defining that pro choice means only one choice.

*For blasting judicial tyranny and defending Americans.

*For explaining that men and women are actually different.

*For injecting conservatism in up to 20 million listeners.

It is hard for some conservatives—those that have always been conservatives—to appreciate the true impacts of the accomplishments of Rush Limbaugh. Many can remember his first broadcasts. Many celebrate him, thanking him when they call on his show. There are those that still wish to throw him to the wolves because of imperfection. Those individuals have obviously never been locked within the suffocating grasp of liberalism. Those individuals choose not to understand his contributions to America and conservatism.

Never let it be said that we don’t appreciate Rush Limbaugh, and never let it be said that we don’t understand the impact he has had on America. Let it be said that Rush Limbaugh is one of the greatest of Americans, and that we—as conservatives—will be forever grateful for all that he has done and all that he will do.

So, today, November 22, 2007, I celebrate Thanksgiving. It is a day that should be remembered because of the importance it has to conservatism and the new media. True greatness comes along maybe once or twice in a lifetime. This greatness will be identified when history unfolds, and as one conservative American of many, we will do our best to record that greatness.

On this Thanksgiving Day, I am truly thankful for all the conservative men and women that make a difference in America. They should be saluted for wishing to return to the concepts of the Founding Fathers. They should be respected and admired for admonishing liberals at every turn in the road.

And they should be thanked for fighting the good fight, a fight to return to our American roots

I, for one, am truly thankfull for Rush. Met him a couple of times in Sacramento way back in the FILCO days before he launched. Amazing what has happened since. What really concerns me is his safety. I trust, and hope, and pray he has the best security money can buy. We would be lost without him. I feel he is are only real effective voice against th MSM. Others are evolving but we need Rush.I thank him for his validation every day.

Without Rush and his EIB brainchild ... Florida, without a doubt... WOULD HAVE gone for GORE... The state was so incredibly close.... the Rush Limbaugh influence over the years had to carry the margin of victory....

This country would never have survived a GORE presidency!

A Republican (scratch that) CONSERVATIVE victory in 2008 will be because of Rush as well.

RUSH is Patrick Henry, Paul Revere and a little bit of George Patton all rolled into one.
