Mayor Becomes Entangled by Gun Lawsuits

After picking a legal fight with gun dealers down South, Mayor Bloomberg could soon come under fire in courtrooms in South Carolina and Georgia.

Two recent court rulings — one from yesterday — suggest that Mr. Bloomberg may want to reserve a few days on his calendar next year in case he is called to face a jury over allegations that he defamed two gun dealers by speaking ill of them in the press.

"He's going to get a reception that's very different than the one he gets from his handpicked audiences across the country," a former congressman who is suing Mr. Bloomberg on behalf of a gun dealer in Smyrna, Ga., Atlanta attorney Bob Barr, said. "Jurors here are not likely to believe in gun control or appreciate some outsider coming into their jurisdiction and telling their businesses how to operate."

Actually, its more like New York vs. the rest of the country. New York has annointed itself as our new Federal Government.

No offense to the GOOD people of NY, but Hillary knew where the suckers were. Those that voted for her, deserve her. Those who didn't....oh well.

Bloomberg should be in jail for organizing strawman purchases.

He won’t be pulling anymore of his shenanigans here in VA either. Wwe now have a law on the books that makes his particular class of private sting operations a felony. And we have an Attorney General that has the balls to enforce it too.

Ahem. Most of NYS is made up of red counties, ya know. I live in one. We're not all loons. Upstate just needs its own state :)

I lived up in Saratoga for a year when I was in the Navy. Seemed like hometown America, except for the loonies that showed up from time to time for some of the goings on at SPAC.

I remember counting the voytes by country there in 2004, and as I recall, take out NYC, Long Island and Westcheser County, and the rest of the state would have gone for Bush.

Has Bob Barr come back from his flirtation with the dark side?

The latest on Bloomberg's illegal antics.

Typical leftist scum, thinking the law is for everybody but him.

I haven't followed Barr enough to know what he's been up to, but he seems to be on the right side in this fight.

All I know is he was an ACLU flack for a while, but I also remember him supporting FR causes early on. A few here think he was compromised but I’ll reserve judgment. He is definitely on the right side here.

Bump for that. I agree wholeheartedly.

It’s good to see Barr going after this.
