The Denver Post ^ | 10/30/2007 | Katy Human and Jeremy P. Meyer

Health clinics in six Denver high schools should be allowed to dispense birth control and emergency contraceptive pills, according to a new report by a health task force.

"This is a real controversial issue," said Paul Melinkovich, who directs Denver Health's school-based clinics. "But teenagers are sexually active, and teen pregnancy is one of the largest reasons for the dropout of girls from high schools." ......

This middle school pill issue has exposed something about the left’s worldview that everyone should keep in mind.

Now, there are some leftists (the secular socialists) that understand the “unintended” consequences and actively work to make them happen,

but in general, leftists can’t understand the concept of “incentives”.
(Aside: since free markets are based in incentives, they can’t understand them at all.)

But, back to the pill for 11 yr olds issue.
In general, the leftist thought process goes like this:

There are some who are making choice X, which will have consequence Y, which is undesirable. So, we must somehow alleviate consequence Y, since choice X is a given.

No thought or understanding is given to the idea that the existence of consequence Y is what keeps choice X from being made more often.

Then, when more of choice X occurs after their alleviation of the consequence, they slip into the “wow, it was more prevalent than we even thought it was!”.

These are the ignorant leftists - simply dangerously stupid, like an ape with a pistol.

Then there are the SS, the secular socialists, who use the opportunity to cause more chaos and destruction of society. They KNOW that there will be more destructive choices made if the personal consequences are removed, and revel in it.

When were prescriptions no longer required for hormonal contraceptives?

Give the teachers the power of life an death and what drugs will they push next. May be they would want to provide drug addicts with their drug of choice. They might want to do away with a deformed child that was “missed” during the normal times for abortion. I do not trust this new age brand of teachers to teach let alone push drugs.

Just checked the USDA web-site. There are no hormonal contraceptives that do not require a prescription. So unless these schools have a full time Doctor on site, someone is writing prescriptions illegally.

Are these the same kids who are smart enough to find a good abortionist but whose parents are too dumb to use a voucher?

These busybodies start with the assumption that every teen pregnancy is accidental. That is not the case. They always make the case that making birth control available will prevent every teen pregnancy. But as long as there is a voluntary component that required the kids to use the birth control being offered, most of these pregnancies are still going to occur.

The Sex Positive Agenda as preached by Kinsey, Reich, Feminists, and Marxists seeks to see everyone sexually active “embracing their birthright for sexual release” at every age with no moral judgements over sexual pairings regardless of age, sex, number, relation, marital status, or species of partner(s).

They oppose abstinence because they consider it to be an unhealthy supression of sexual desire. They cite “genetic” support for homosexuality but don’t care end the end because they believe that you shouldn’t moralize any sexual pairing.

Condoms in schools was not about ending pregnancy or disease, it was about forever winning the argument over IF teens should be having sex and shifting it to WHEN...

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I agree. Why?

Reason #1: ALL Marxists lie.

Reason #2: Our government K=12 schools are thoroughly and completely controlled by Marxists.

Reason #3: The goal of our Marxist controlled government schools is to destroy Western Civilization and all freedom.

The Marxists most important weapon in their fight against liberty is our schools. We can survive a nuclear suitcase bomb, but we will NOT survive if the Marxists succeed in indoctrinating the next generation of voters.

An excellent analysis that applies to many other issues too. For such an important issue like this, which is all about the true “health” of the children, why the left (and possibly a majority in the country) accepts X (contraception to 11 year olds!), rather than combatting it, just boggles the mind! We are living in an alternate universe.

Yes, that analysis applies to most “fixes” that the left tries to implement.

There are those that are trying to help and are baffled by the increase in occurrence of the behavior, and others that understand what will happen and want it to happen.

Read “Conflict of Visions” by Thomas Sowell.

Of course pregnancies will continue. Kids don't take any pill with regularity,if at all. They think they are immune to conceiving kids. Maybe the teachers are trying to protect themselves, 'if you know what I mean'? /sarcasm

“But teenagers are sexually active, and teen pregnancy is one of the largest reasons for the dropout of girls from high schools.”

_______

There a few was to prevent this. If they are going to have sex ed in public schools they should also have a parenting class. Bring in a local day care.

First class of the day, diaper changing, fully loaded.

Second, screaming a wailing, make it stop.

This should be done, everyday, for one week.

Now, tell them that no birth control is 100% effective. I think the message would sink in quick.

Yet my son can’t bring his asthma medicine at school unless I have a special form filled out and signed by the doctor. Even with the form, I still have to get an extra rescue breather to keep at school in the nurse’s office. Then, when my son has an attack, he has to leave class, go up a flight of stairs and wait for the nurse to ‘dispense’ his albuterol inhaler.

Call me cynical, but I suspect this is one major factor.

None of the "compassionate" liberal teachers wants an underage
student to endure a pregnancy.

Especially the ones they are scr-wing.

Any guesses as to what the reaction will be when one of these kids dies from a blood clot?

Many kids who wind up pregnant wanted to get pregnant. There is no pill in the World that will deal with that.
