Sex and the Presidency ... (Mrs Clinton attempting to seem like a woman)
WSJ ^ | Friday, October 19, 2007 | PEGGY NOONAN

Posted on 10/19/2007 6:15:51 AM PDT by IrishMike

Being a woman is Mrs. Clinton's biggest asset--and she's trying to seem like one. Where do things stand now with Hillary Clinton? What is her trajectory almost a year since it became clear she was running for the presidency?

Some time back I said she doesn't have to prove she is a man, she has to prove she is a woman. Her problem is not her sex, as she and her campaign pretend. That she is a woman is a boon to her, a source of latent power. But to make it work, she has to seem like a woman.

No one doubts Mrs. Clinton's ability to make war. No close or longtime observer has ever been quoted as saying that she may be too soft for the job. Instead one worries about what has always seemed her characterological bellicosity. She invented the War Room, listened in on the wiretaps, brought into the White House the man who got the private FBI files of the Clintons' perceived enemies.

This is not a woman who has to prove she's tough enough and mean enough; she is more like a bulldozer who has to prove she won't always be in high gear and ready to flatten you. In private, her friends say--and I have seen it to be true--that she is humorous, bright, interested in the lives of others.

...........................................

Mrs. Clinton is the tea bag that brings the boiling water with her. It's always high drama with her, always a cauldron--secret Web sites put up by unnamed operatives smearing Barack Obama in the tones of Tokyo Rose, Chinese businessmen having breakdowns on trains after the campaign cash is traced back, secret deals. It's always flying monkeys. One always wants to ask: Why? What is this?

A woman scorned eh? If she becomes president not only will she push us to a complete socialistic model but she will crush any opposition.

Chavez is an amateur compared to what she will do.

"There isn't a woman in America who hasn't been patronized--or worse--for being a woman, at least to some degree, and I mean all women, from the nun patronized by the bullying bishop to the congresswoman not taken seriously by the policy intellectual to the school teacher browbeaten by the school board chairman to the fare collector corrected by the huffy businessman. It happens to every woman."

sorry peggy, you lost me there...

....she has to seem like a woman.

A figurative device, in which a woman hold's a man's manhood, preventing him from acting as per his natural state. Implicit in this arrangement is that the woman has means of reprisal against the man, and should he misbehave, grave consequences await. Most commonly used to describe arrangements in spousal or significant-other relationships, but can also be used in other scenarios where a woman has power over a man, and he must accede to her demands or face consequences. Often abbreviated, just 'TLB', especially when used in polite company.

The word is only correctly used if the man feels emasculated as a result - it does not cover all situations where a woman has authority over a man.
(Urban dictionary).

Gravitas, where is the gravitas. The whole notion that Hillary Matters is qualified for President, should be rejected out of hand. She has done exactly nothing, her resume is blank, since she doesn’t want to put down head bimbo eruption handler, or top cattle futures wrangler.

Other than that, what has she done to qualify her for the job.

No, she nailed it. Just because you think you haven't done any of those things to a woman doesn't mean many, many women feel like victims.

Our society has created many classes of victims....one of which is women.

Hillary will play into that and there won't be a damn thing anybody can do about it!

We already see the "editorials" appearing in local papers around the country written by men who would never vote for Hillary because she is too liberal, but will vote for her because they want their daughter(s) to witness the first female Presient.

These editorials will morph into interviews which will be portrayed by the mindless media as a grassroots movement to elect the first female President.

If you are vomiting now from what you hear, expect projectile vomit once the nominations are over.

Not much of a woman if she sticks around with the former cheater/rapist in chief.

She seems very much a woman to me- Leona Helmsley comes to mind. And if she loses the election she can always get a job as a dominatrix- as soon as they find a pair of XXXL rubber hot pants.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

In her mind, WE humiliated HER and forced light into the areas of her life she wanted kept in darkness. She was forced to face reality. And it was ugly. Her carefully plotted healthcare plan was jeered and she was shot down. She was forced to endure the mocking of "stand by your man". And smile. And pretend all was well. She was forced to swallow.

We haven't seen her fury yet. God help us if she gets in power.

There is some truth to this point, but its importance is minimal. Most women DO feel patronized by men at various points in their lives, but so what? Women show their contempt for men, too, and are equally adept at mistreating others. The difference is that men don’t wallow in pity parties or go crying to the government.
