Last night, the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed a measure to approve calling the killings in Turkey during WWI genocide. The vote was 27-21, which seems to be right down party lines since there are 27 Dems and 21 Rep on the committee.

Turkey has said that consequences of the House voting and approving the measure "won't be pleasant".

According to Sec. Gates, approximately 70% of all cargo that goes into Iraq goes through Turkey.

So if the house decides to approve this measure calling the killings genocide and Turkey decides to kick the US out of their country, which is what they did to France, wouldn't this cripple the war in Iraq and force and early withdrawal?

“The US is a very important ally of ours, but an ally does not act like this.”

Dear General Büyükanıt:

Think back to Turkey's actions at the start of Gulf War II. Do you recall the US wanting to send troops through Turkey, and Turkey refusing to allow it?? ALLIES DO NOT ACT LIKE THAT!!!

I despise the democrats. However, I also have no use for an ‘ally’ that screws us regularly, and that has attacked the Kurds regularly for years. They are also rapidly moving into the arms of the islamofascists, and stabbing the US in the back would tend to accelerate the process.

If they follow thru on their threat, they may find that they have cut off their nose to spite their face.

Bingo! We have a winner. This is the reason Pelosi is doing this. An indirect way to make Iraq more difficult and block supplies going in etc. Dems just want to keeping mucking up the works and then blame Bush.

They may not be our best ally, but at least they are not at war with us.

We didn’t shoot ourselves in the foot, the Dems shot America in the back.

Why isn’t the President raising hell about this? Seems like a good opportunity to point out RATs causing problems to the troops. Oh wait, republicans are above politics.
