A Sandy Burglar Comeback? In a report on the efforts of Democratic presidential candidates to attract the "best and brightest" policy advisors for their campaigns, Newsweek columnist Michael Hirsh reports that former national security advisor and document pilferer Sandy Berger is one of the three foreign policy experts most relied upon by Senator Hillary Clinton in her White House bid. No word on whether he would have a White House position or security clearance in a potential Clinton Administration.

Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, has relied largely on her husband and a triumvirate of senior officials from his presidencyformer secretary of state Madeleine Albright, former U.N. ambassador Richard Holbrooke and former national-security adviser Sandy Berger (who tries to keep a low profile after pleading guilty in 2005 to misdemeanor charges of taking classified material without authorization).
Thanks, George, for giving Sandy Burglar such a sweetheart plea deal. /UltraMegaGigaSarc
Well I guess we know what the payoff was for Burglar sneeking out those docs from the archieves. Wonder what the Clintons needs so badly to go missing.
Yep, thanks to the Bush Administraion and Alberto Gozales, Burglar will be welcomed back with open arms.
This Justice Department would not even follow up with an agreed upon Polygraph Test of Burglar. What a farce.
Sniping in front of the cameras notwitstanding, the Clintons and Bushs are not the big enemies many seem to believe they are. The question the Bush administration needs to ask itself, tho, is will a possible 3rd Clinton administration be as nice to them as they were to the Clintons?
"Worst and the Unindicted" is more like it for this band of sociopath career criminals "advising" Hilldebeast.
Brings something to mind. What exactly does a security clearance mean in a Clinton administration? After what we've seen with CIA blowing their own ops to the press, with Democrat leaders giving aid and comfort to the jihadists, with Bin Ladin's speeches indistinguishable from Reid's and Pelosi's, with Chinese money sloshing all about, is there anyone left in Washington who could pass a security clearance that meant anything?
Can she answer that Berger will have no role, officially or not, in her White House? I don't think she'll be able to do it without the Gleasonesque "hamina hamina haminas."
One thing is for sure -
the penalty that Burglar faced was obviously far less damaging than having the information stay in the archives.
Not if the conservative blogosphere has anything to say about it.
Someone has got to get through the Clintons' filter and demand that Hillary -- who has blathered on and on about a "Republican culture of corruption" cronyism in the Bush White House -- swear off any participation of Berger or any of his employees, associates, or contractors in her administration.
Is Sandy Burglar the LYNCH-PIN between the Clintons and the COMMUNIST CHINESE???
In 1992, he was a big admirer of Clinton and a lobbyist for Chinese trade. I don’t trust Sandy Berger at all.
“No word on whether he would have a ...security clearance... in a potential Clinton Administration.”
There were several people in the last Clinton Administration who weren’t exactly diligent about getting their security clearances.
or else...
I think Sandy Burglar IS the conduit between Chinese Communist money and the Clintons.
Where is the Republican to call this SOB the traitor that he is?
