But I would add that once having a child becomes a "choice" from which one can back away with abortion and whatnot, the sanctity of the family and the holy duties of parenthood are viewed as an on-again off-again interference with worship at the altar of the self.
My rule of thumb for social evil is when children die for the needs of adults.
Of course, they don't do a thing if the outside temp is even in the low 80's....and you have to park correctly to get the sun to the solar.
We generally just try to park pointing north, so the front seats, steering wheel and shifters are not receiving direct sun.

I stayed at home with my kids. I couldn’t be by myself for 2 minutes usually and if i ever got an hour off i constantly felt like i’d forgotten something.
You can’t build that instinct if a babysitter has your kids more than you do.
Excellent point. I’d forgotten about the window issue. Also, I don’t remember anyone worrying about kidnapping, etc., when I was a kid.

It’s really pretty bad when you go into work and leave your baby in the car all day,regardless of the temperature outside.The very fact that you are so lamebrained that you would go off and leave your baby like that speaks volumes.
When did everything else in this world become more important then one’s own children? We’re so quick to ban firearms “for the children”, then give pedophiles and child abusers a mere slap on the wrist.It defies understanding.
Another poster claims 145 kids died. Either number indicates the incredibly infrequent occurrence of a very rare tragedy.
Probably a million or so people die each year of heart disease. That means that resources spent on decreasing heart disease will probably have 10,000 times more impact on human suffering. There are probably dozens, if not hundreds, of other causes of death which would justify more attention than this matter.

Hello, I agree that parents should be able to Figure out it their kid is with them or not. There was one case where the dad forgot his little girl. and I can see how that may happen because it was off from their routine. He wasn’t the one who usually took the kids to day care.
I would like to have the device for my Mom who is by no means Elderly but she is not used to having the kids with her often, I think that a device to remind her is a great idea. We live in AZ and it is VERY hot here.
Think of it like a Gadget and don’t get offended, Did you make comments when the car makers started using the fasten seat belt light and the annoying beep that goes with it. Or the Air bag reminder. Just to let you know it is still there. The Buzz that goes off when you leave your lights on.
Wait a minute You prolly DID. Any how. You don’t have to worry about any of this because you are a Perfect person. But other not so perfect humans like me will be happy to have an extra reminder that the little one who is the most precious spirit in the world. Happens to be with Me that day and not with Daddy or Grandma.
I think that it is always better to be safe than sorry.

We have reminders for every thing else! Seat belt, airbag, lights on, check engine oil. Why not add the feature. It could save 1 live then it is well worth having it.
I don’t think most of them were left on purpose. What I hear over and over in these stories is parents rushing to work in the mornings forgetting who has the child to leave at daycare. Most of these people are just too busy, too stressed out, and sleep deprive to be diligent parents. What I wonder is if they are so out of it as to leave a child in a car then what other dangerous things are happening to their children?
Hey, maybe you can find a post I wrote within the last week, rather than 7 months ago? Maybe then I’d care what you have to say because on this, I am at a loss.
