Fred Thompson off to a bad start [Hmmmmmm, I'd say somebody else is]
ABC NEWS ^ | Jake Tapper

Moreover, when Thompson filed his disclosure form with the IRS, he revealed that $72,000 of the $3.4 million raised is to be used for the general election. Former FEC General Counsel, Larry Noble told the Washington Post "I think it's problematic. Clearly it's a red flag."

I don’t think Fred is all that smart but I don’t think he’s all that dumb, either. The guy is a lawyer for goodness’sake. I’m sure he wouldn’t make such a stupid mistake . . . or would he?

My problem with Romney isn’t his religion, it’s his record.

Did you ride around on a bicycle wearing a short sleeved, button up shirt and tie with a buddy dressed the same?

It states that a “liberal activist” filed the FEC complaint. The ABC blogger was honest, but not this poster in characterizing what was conveyed.

It's interesting how scared both liberals and certain "conservatives" are of Thompson.

Thompson is far from perfect (which seems to be the standard for people who have already chosen candidates to back, candidates who are equally far from perfect), but he is superior where it matters to the American voter--he doesn't seem to have an ax to grind, he doesn't come off as some fire-breather from the fringes, and he comes across as an honest MAN, not some wuss who secretly loathes women and tries to appease them with silly talk about "emotional" issues.

Thompson comes across as an intelligent man who understands that we can't walk away from Iraq, we can't live in a dreamworld where (considering demographics and the last election) we don't bother trying to appeal beyond our own back yard, and we can't just push gussied-up liberal programs (like Hillarycare, hello, Gov. Romney) and move our party to the left.

It's a hard balancing act for the other candidates, but this is where Thompson has always been. Forget compassionate conservatism, he strikes me as a genuine conservative, and not one of the religious conservatives who don't seem to grasp that there IS a difference.

He hasn't even formally announced that he's a candidate yet and is already being looked at for breaking campaign law.

You gotta be joking or dumber than a pile of dirty socks. A liberal BLOGGER is filing a campaign complaint against Fred. A BLOGGER!

If you can't keep your nose clean at this stage how can we trust the guy. I will not vote for anyone that is not above board and honest.

Fred's specialty is investigating corruption. Now tell me you didn't know that Fred doesn't know campaign finance laws, when he (naively) co-sponsored a bill to try and curb it & went after the Clintons for breaking the laws as well.

a religion that holds that the only way for a wife to get out of hell is for her husband to use a secret name to call her “through the veil.”

HUH?

You never heard Moma talk about Joseph Smith and his penchant for multiple wives.
Seriously, the flipflops on life, social, and fiscal consevativism should make anyone nervous about Romney’s newly-conservative positions.

I hope and pray that he’s genuine. But I look at Mass.’s State health insurance with concern.

No, you're a bot if you attack the messenger instead of the message.

The FEC ruled that Robertson had violated the "testing the waters" rules in 1988, fining him $25,000.

All you Fred bots are attacking me but can't defend the actions of your man.

I don't care who filed the complaint, it's still going to be investigated. IT...IS...SLEAZY
