WASHINGTON -- It may be too early to make any predictions about the 2008 elections, but it's likely the Republicans will win back a number of House seats they lost last year.
Indeed, as I noted in an earlier column, Democrats hold at least eight of the nine "most vulnerable" House seats, according to veteran congressional-elections analyst Stuart Rothenberg.

I agree. I have an “independent” cousin who fell victim to the “GOP is corrupt” campaign by moveon.org etc. He forwarded me one of their hit lists of GOP politicians in trouble. Admittedly it was a large list, going back years, and included local politicians. I googled Democrat corruption and came up with a like list of Dems and emailed it to him.
It was too late. He had already voted absentee. Now I copy him on every Dem corruption and lie in the last 5 months. Needless to say he feels he was bamboozled by the left last October.

I’d rather have the Senate than the House. Regardless of what happens in the presidential race next year, the Senate will get more liberal and therefore it’s going to be hard getting originalist judges on the SCOTUS.

I am glad that your cousin has an open, logical and empirical mind. Too many people vote Dem for completely illogical reasons, plain stupidity, or being bamboozled by the media and their teachers. (I will not deny that there are some Reps who fit that description, but I sense the numbers are much smaller).
But if it's shoved down our throats thanks to Senate RINO complicity, and Pelosi can cobble together a version that can be passed the Conference Committee, then there's trouble.
