>>>>”I’ve had the most experience dealing with terrorism,” Giuliani said
Yes; but on which end?
Heheh——good one.
And maybe-——I had my first sexual experience when I was 11 years old; it lasted 9 nanoseconds.
As soon as I heard about the JFK plot, I knew Rudy would say this.
I like the guy on Sept 11th, but that is about it.
You’d think Rudy single-handedly investigated and arrested the latest plotters with the way he carries on. His stand on the 2nd Amendment alone is enough to tar & feather him and send him packing...
> Hearing Rudy bring up 9/11 is starting to sound a lot like Kerry saying he was in Vietnam.
Holy cow, you nailed it — that’s exactly what it sounds like!
Go away, Rooty.
Rudy is of course correct except to the purists who would nominate Paul and lose 50 states. If Fred or Mitt say the same thing, good for them. We need a warrior against the jihadists not a baggy pants theoretician who wouldn’t know how to run DOD from the FCC. Rudy is a technician-official who knows that govt. must be efficient and strong to offset the mindset of the wussies in the DNC.
His 'experience fighting terrorism' is the same as mine doing brain surgery while I play the accordion and tap dance - which is Z-E-R-O.
[The mutt should be in a padded cell.]
Fred for me in '08
Rudy has zero experience dealing with anything outside of New York
“Giuliani told a crowd of 700 gathered at a Broward County Republican fundraiser that Democrats ignore the Islamic terrorist threat and that he is the Republican candidate best capable of handling it.”
“That boy ain’t right.”
Yes, he is delusional. He is the one who wants open borders and has catered to illegal aliens.
I’ve said just as much all along. He’s using 9/11 to serve his own political ambition, no less than the widows who did the same.
Ann Coulter oughta take a piece out of Giuliani....
Exactly -- Giuliani shouldn't be running for president, he should be running for FEMA spokesperson.
Or, as Mark Steyn said: "The one I find actually rather disappointing is Giuliani . . . when you listen to him speak, what worries me is that he has a sort of airport security approach to the war. And he's not actually very good when he's talking about the big foreign policy aspects of it and the big geopolitical thing. He's very good if you want to hunker down and have a security checkpoint. He's the guy who'd be good for manning that checkpoint."
This article does nothing to dispel that impression. Yet AGAIN, he defines "being on the offense" as PATRIOT Act, surveillance and interrogation. He's said this repeatedly.
In reality, these are defensive police tactics. We may need them, but being on the offense is warring against terrorists overseas. He'll talk about the war as a way to attack the donks, but his anti-terrorist message points pretty much consistently amount to: 1. PATRIOT Act; 2. Surveillance; 3. Interrogation. Giuliani just does not get it.
Exactly the point. All of Giuliani's experience is in after-the-fact criminal prosecution of terrorists, or secure the perimeter and guard the metal-detectors defense.
Criminal prosecution of terrorists is the failed anti-terrorist approach of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Micro, defensive planning to secure office campuses is what companies need, and Giuliani may have experience in that.
But global, offensive war against terrorists, using armies and foreign policy tools, is 180 degrees removed from that. Giuliani has absolutely zero experience with these things, and worse, his long experience with crime makes it virtually certain that he will revert to a crime-fighting posture against Islamofascists (because that's what he knows). Look at this article -- every one of the anti-Islamofascist, supposedly "on-the-offense" discussion points he lists are crime-fighting tactics.
You want to see the socialists/commies go nuts?, put Cheney on the ticket. He is the devil incarnate to the left.
That would be a great story and a great ticket.
