A former Democratic Party activist who left dog feces on the doorstep of U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave's Greeley office during last year's 4th Congressional District campaign was found not guilty Wednesday of criminal use of a noxious substance.

A Weld County jury deliberated about two hours before acquitting Kathleen Ensz of the misdemeanor count. Her trial began Tuesday.

Ensz's lawyers never denied that their client left a Musgrave campaign brochure full of feces at the front door of the congresswoman's office. But they argued that Ensz was making a statement protected by free speech - the poop was a symbol of what she thought of Musgrave's politics.

You’d think they would at least consider it littering.

But they argued that Ensz was making a statement protected by free speech...

Does this mean we can take a perch in the gallery and defecate on Congress?

This means I was wrongly judged on all those pranks we pulled as kids leaving poop on peoples doorsteps. I was only making a statement protected by free speech.

You know full well if this had been a Republican activist doing this to a Democrat member it would be prosecuted as a hate crime.

There was another recent case where a man sent dog poop in the envelope with his payment for a parking ticket and was charged for the offense.

Dems walk. There are no politically motivated hate crimes. < /s >

“But they argued that Ensz was making a statement protected by free speech”

BS. Horsesh!t. Etc.

Ain’t buying it. That is like saying it is free speech to throw a brick through GOP office windows (which ALSO happened in 2004).

Dude, the poop on the doorstep trick is so early 1960s. Otter and Bluto would have done such a thing.

I wonder if they ever noticed that their sign says:

“OUR TOWN - TRANSMITS DISEASE”

Unfortunate break in the sentence.

It was at least assault with a deadly weapon as attempting to poison someone would be ... but it was also democrat sub-literate free speech so the jury had mercy on the fool. But I wonder, what would happen to a person who would now leave fecal deposits on the doorsteps of the jurors for their work in acquitting this dumb democrat? [ Do they have firing squads in that state?]

I was grabbing a few things from my favorite Home Depot location today for this weekend, and there were several products featuring 'worm poop.'

My first thought was my socialist senators and gubner have just earned a sample as a gift, but then realized they're too stupid to know what to do with it.

And the local politicos aren't smart enough to learn how to make money in MI.

And so it goes in the rust belt.

“OUR TOWN - TRANSMITS DISEASE”

If this were in San Francisco, it'd simply be truth in advertising. LOL!

I just had to click on this because of the title of the thread - Woman acquitted of illegal poop use!

I sort of did the same thing when someone kept stealing my paper from my front porch, putting cat poop inside an old paper and leaving it out - no one ever stole my paper again. Good to know if I was caught I was just exercising my right of free speech and I’d have been acquitted!
