Casey is a “pro-lifer”, eh? That makes it all worthwhile.

I PERSONALLY know "conservatives" who didn't vote for Blackwell or DeWine because they weren't "Christian" enough.

The same thing happened here in Maryland with our republican ex-Governor Ehrlich. All these "conservatives" were saying "he's not conservative enough!" I'm thinking... your choices are a far-left pro-illegal socialist mayor of Baltimore, or the guy we have now, who might not be totally conservative, but who does at least provide us a balance against the Democrat controlled state legislature. For me? The choice was easy.

These people who stayed at home are like spoiled children. Elections are NEVER about getting what you want. They are about choosing the candidate who is going to screw you the least.

Not fair to Allen. Hillary saw him as a real threat.

Sorry, if you are ready for prime time, you don't give your opponents the hammer to hit you with. I though Allen had potential until I saw how he ran his campaign.

Where did I say it was worthwhile? The Dems were able to get the pro-life vote back in their column.

Blame the people who actually voted for someone like Allen for his removal.

Did you even read my post? I am blaming the people who stayed home for Allen's removal.

I for one don’t see many “conservative principles” coming from the GOP leadership lately. They better learn spanish quickly if they want to get an increase in party membership.

True.
I kept hearing that Talent and Allen ran awful reelection campaigns.
Rick was just out spent and the voter fraud in Philly is hard to overcome. Philly is a third world nation.

I guess I just care about the WoT more than you do.

Point is for those of us who prioritize the WoT, and fighting the islamfacists, Rudy is MORE than acceptable... he is a damn fine candidate.

Your logic must mean that you think Rudy and Obama or Hillary would prosecute the war in the same exact way. That or you don’t care that they wouldn’t.

I guess I have to start apologizing for not having the same priorities as you, for 'selling out' and not being a 'REAL' or 'TRUE' conservative?

Why no mention of the Dems who won by running to the right of Republicans on immigration in some areas?

Nobody stayed home. Not in any numbers anyway. Conservative ballot measures passed all over the nation.

Wanna blame someone? Blame the Dems who lied to get those votes and the spineless Republican leadership for their fear of the MSM and constant desire to be accepted by Democrats.

These solid conservatives lost in 2006 because so-called conservatives were so angry about illegal immigration that they stayed home.

You just completely made that up.

Just because he said it doesn’t make it actually true. I’m not sure about the other two, but I live in Virginia and that’s not why Allen went down.

I guess I just care about the WoT more than you do.

And that's a lie, given that just about every GOP candidate is solid on the WOT.

Point is for those of us who prioritize the WoT, and fighting the islamfacists, Rudy is MORE than acceptable... he is a damn fine candidate.

Please tell me Rudy's national security bona fides. The last I saw, he was pushing a corrupt crony for the most important anti-terror job in the country.

Your logic must mean that you think Rudy and Obama or Hillary would prosecute the war in the same exact way. That or you don’t care that they wouldn’t.

And another Rudy booster lame-assed talking point. If you are opposed to Rudy, you must want Hillary to win.

Sorry, but Rudy would not hold the party together and the Dems would SHRED him over his past problems.

I guess I have to start apologizing for not having the same priorities as you, for 'selling out' and not being a 'REAL' or 'TRUE' conservative?

No, but you could apologize for pimping a guy guaranteed to split the party.

These senators did not lose because Reps stayed home. George Allen ran a poor campaign and his opponent was formidable in a state that is trending more and more Dem, especially Nothern Virginia. Kerry beat Bush in Fairfax county, the first time that has happened in 40 years. Allen lost ground in some strong Rep areas populated by retired military. Webb, a Navy Cross winner and former SecNav under Reagan, with a son in the military going to Iraq found some reasonance among traditional Rep voters.

Santorum was soundly defeated by an ersatz conservative Dem who was pro life. Santorum also had to weather some criticism about where he actually lived. PA is not exactly a red state. Casey won 59% to 41%. Increased Rep turnout was not going to change that result.

Talent just eked out a victory last time. The stem cell debate and the participation of Michael J. Fox was a factor

It was increased Dem turnout energized by the war in Iraq and a GOP wracked by scandal, e.g., Weldon, Sherwood, Cunningham, Foley, Delay, etc. and the Abramoff scandal that touched folks like Burns and JD Hayworth fed into a mid-term where no incumbent Dem lost and the Dems picked up six governorships as well. Blaming GOP voters is nonsense.

You think the MSM might actually be in 'bed' with the Dems or Hillary? That would be biased and wrong.

There you go again. Blaming conservatives for staying home when it was a swing in centrist votes that lost the election for those men.

Thank you! This is one of the dumbest arguments that has been put forth in a long time. The republicans ran a campaign of "vote republican or you will get Nancy" sorry that is not a campaign. You have to give people a reason to vote for you, not if you don't you will get the other guy, well Nancy wasn't running in any of the lost races.

I still maintain that Bush/Rove/RNC did what they could so they could get amnesty for illegals. One of Bush's first statements after the election was that now he had a congress he could work with and get a comprehensive immigration bill.

And be prepared to be flamed to a crisp now.

See the Antis don’t want to hear the truth. They want pompous self validation. They want to hear how their self absorbed emotion based hysteria on this issue has NOTHING to do with the mess we are facing. No it is the fault of (put name of favorite scapegoat here) NOT the politically short sighted suicidal behavior of the screaming idiot crowd in the “Conservative” media Establishment and their brain dead drone followers that this disaster is about to become law.

Face it, the bulk of the “Conservative” movement is too emotional, and mentally, immature to win anything any more.

Never mind the fact the US House GOP leadership had this bill dead and the Rabid Know Nothings fired them last Nov! Just ignore all factual reality and cater to the Idiot Caucus blind political bigotry and mindless self absorption. Say HELLO to President Hillary now.
