Not to me. Newt is too intelligent for the American people, has baggage, and believes in global farts.

GREAT!

He doesn’t have much chance in winning, but he will be a great conductor of all of the liberal BS that’s bound to be generated via the press and DNC.

And if nothing else, Newt will raise the level of debate, while at the same time force the Dems to answer some of the tough questions they would otherwise be given a pass on.

Run, Newt,Run!

This could get real interesting. Newt is smart enough to present the REAL ISSUES that are important to Americans, does not give a damn about the MSM, and would out-class Hitlery in a microsecond. He is a patriot, clearly a conservative in the right dimensions, is articulate, and would do the right things for our borders, the immigration DISASTER...and would spit in the eye of slimey socialist trash like Pelosi and Reid and Kennedy.

Yes, this could be interesting.

Any Republican running has “baggage”.

In fact, (as Rush says) even if they don’t have baggage, the drive by media will assign them baggage.

Newt blows away the rest of the RINOs running by a country mile.

Well, this is going to be interesting!

He will be hounded and hounded about his “hypocrisy” (dems words not ours) during the Clinton administration. We will all go back to 1999 (or whatever exact year it was). Will we have to hear from the women he cheated with? Yes interesting indeed.

Newt is too intelligent

Too arrogant, maybe, but I wouldn't say he is too intelligent. After all, when he went up against a sitting president with charges of impeachment, he was the one who ended up resigning his House Speakership. And that was just one of the several scandals and problems associated with the former Speaker.

He can run, but he isn't going to get close to the nomination. If, by some change he does happen to get the nomination, the election would go to the Dems, even if they were running Donald Duck. Most of the Dems and many of the GOP didn't like him in the mid 90s; and that hasn't changed. At most, he might get 25% of the vote. Him as nominee would cause a GOP landslide defeat comparable to Mondale's 13 electoral votes in 1984.

I’ll file this in “Interesting but Bad.”

Newt’s a much better color commentator than he ever was a quarterback.

please don’t run. You cheating on your wife and dating a woman much younger than you who works for you is not good for the conservative base. Yes, your personal life should not be a factor but it is and the dems will exploit this to the planet Jupiter and back. You soiled your reputation and all you did as speaker does not mean jack now.

I don’t think so. Newt’s not the figure Fred Thompson is. Nor does he have the appeal that Romney has. He’s just another face in the mass.

Sure, he has had some great ideas, but his time came and went. I’m not interested in more baggage. We already have enough on our side.

Newt will raise the level of debate

Actually, it wouldn't. It would make it worse.

Mike Wallace opened the tone for Republicans in 08 with his query of the Romneys: Did you have premarital sex.

Imagine Newt getting that question: Did you have premarital sex with your first wife? second wife? mistress(es)? How many mistresses? Mistresses during your first marriage? second?

And that is just the opening salvo. The MSM would never let Newt get to real policy issues. They would brand him and rehash his personal life. It would be payback for what Newt did to their party idol Bill Clinton.

One thought..........

Newt may not get the nomination for presidency but if he gets significant numbers at the primary, that may translate into support for the V.P. slot or a heavy weight advisor in the convention for the Republican Adminstration.

It’s all about power!

Newt just can't stand the attention on someone besides himself.

He could have been a great republican leader if he could overcome his narcissism and his pants coming unzipped.

Isn’t he kind of a has-been? Seriously, I know he has a following, and I respect him, but if it’s between Osama-Obama and Newt, I just don’t see people getting excited about Newt. Just the way america is now- flash over substance.

Imagine Newt getting that question:

Yes,just imagine!

Like I said, he can't win,but he can be a lightning rod that draws the liberal BS to himself, and directs it back on them.

Newt isn't afraid to turn those kind of questions around and shove them back down their collective throats, making the MSM look foolish, while getting his point across.

He would be able to say what others can't say without jeopardizing their candidacy!
