FORT DIX, N.J. — Six men described by federal prosecutors as "Islamic militants" were arrested on charges they plotted to attack the Fort Dix Army post and "kill as many soldiers as possible," federal authorities said Tuesday.

White House spokesman Tony Snow said Tuesday there is "no direct evidence" that the men have ties to international terrorism

Don’t equate actions with religion,” he said.

Uh, sure. I’ll take your word for it.

Yeah, whatever you say, Sohail - you and your religion of peace.

Religious actions should be feed the poor, clothe the naked, take care of the sick and dying, loving your neighbor NOT cut your head off, bomb your home, rape your wifes, sisters, mothers and aunts, kill your children, gouge your eyes out, cut your testicles off, AMEN!

It appears that these folks are of the same Serbs that Clintoon had tried to save

I guess you are confusing Serbs with Albanians/Bosnians/Croats. Clinton (NATO) bombed the Christian Serbs and supported the Muslim Albanians and Bosnians against Serbia.

Y’think our guys at the base are saying ‘bring it on’ ragheads? Nothing like some early morning target practice!

Absolutely not -- except for the range, those GI's have no ammunition for their weapons. Such an attack would be devastating.

One of the charged conspirators, Serdar Tatar, was familiar with Fort Dix because his family owns a pizzeria nearby and he had delivered food there. Tatar allegedly obtained a map to the military base and provided it to his cohorts.

The wannabe jihadists often viewed terror training videos, clips featuring Osama bin Laden, and a tape containing the last will and testament of at least two of the 9/11 hijackers. They also viewed tapes depicting armed attacks on U.S. military personnel and erupted in laughter when one plotter noted that a Marine's arm was blown off in one such ambush.

The affidavit notes that the group recently trained at a firing range in the Poconos (where they rented a house in Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania). In a conversation recorded last month by one FBI informant, alleged conspirator Dritan Duka spoke about the need for secrecy.: "I got five kids so I don't wanna go down," said Duka, who added that were he to be caught, people might think, "I'm a terrorist."

...in the country illegally.” Doing the jobs Americans won’t do!

It will be interesting to find out how long they've been in country, how they entered, were fraudulent documents used, did they just fly in, enter from Canada or Mexico, etc.

Speaking of “no direct connections to international terrorism,” has anyone heard anything about the bomb in Vegas? The story appears to have disappeared off all headlines everywhere.

Well, yeah, I do, actually. Even though we caught you first. Go figure, raghead.

That was the policy when I was active as well. The purpose was to reduce deaths and injuries resulting from inadvertent weapon discharge. The military should now realize they are a target whether in Iraq or in the United States. They should organize quick reaction teams on each base to rapidly deal with a terrorist attack. Most bases are using civilian contractor security for the base.

How Did The Get Here? How Were They Stopped?

Some key questions in the aftermath of these arrests:

[Federal authorities have arrested six New Jersey men for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack against the Fort Dix military base, senior FBI officials have confirmed.

The plot, reported this morning by New York’s WNBC television and confirmed to the Washington Post by FBI officials, involved storming the base with automatic weapons and attempting to kill as many soldiers and other personnel as possible.]

Is it possible that they were contacted from abroad and that contact picked up under the surveillance program so detestable to the left?

It is possible that the interception of contacts from abroad had nothing to do with this prevention of a major terror attack, but if it had, would that matter to the critics of the Bush Administration?

“Yugoslavian Nationals” The media will go so far as to make fools of themselves to avoid putting the blame where it belongs. There is no Yugoslavia. Hasn’t been for a while. They think that a mind-numbed public which learned no Geography in school won’t have the foggiest notion of what Yugoslavia is.
This is no mistake. It’s deliberate.

has anyone heard anything about the bomb in Vegas?

I heard some followup coverage this morning. The employee killed was the intended target of the bomb. This was a hit not a terrorist act. If terrorism was the intent, the bomb would have been inside a casino not in the parking garage and set to explode only when the employee picked it up.

Were they in uniform?
If not, then they are spies and deserve to be executed as soon as possible.

Have the police released the name of the victim yet?

As to your statement, "If terrorism was the intent, the bomb would have been inside a casino not in the parking garage and set to explode only when the employee picked it up," perhaps it was a "trial balloon" i.e. the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center (in the parking garage.)

The Vegas bomb was claimed to be an attempt to whack a hotel employee.

The fact that it took place at an Egyptian themed casino is not relevant - and remember, always remember, “There are no direct connections to international terrorism.”

The anthrax attacks were carried out by some lone wacko, The LAX El Al attack, the Salt Lake City mall shootings, the DC Sniper killings where all the work of a few frustrated individuals with “no direct connections to international terrorism.”

Other than a couple of incidents that took place in New York some years ago, and that are no longer discussed in the media, there have been no attacks in the United States where the attackers had any “direct connections to international terrorism.” Why if there was some link between these attacks and international terrorism we might have to start enforcing our immigration laws. We could even see people calling for a prohibition on the entry into the US of people from countries where a significant portion of the population want to kill large numbers of us. I mean, what could that lead to?

I doubt we'll never see the list of indirect connection.

Amen to everything that you say.

At the time, right after 9/11, when the Islamist shot people standing in line at the El Al counter at the end of the LA Airport, I almost put my shoe through the TV, when I heard Neal Cavuto state to the effect, "Calm down people, this has absolutely nothing to do with terrorism, Islamofacism, etc."

A homemade bomb left on the top of a car in a casino parking garage exploded, killing a man who tried to pick it up, authorities said.

The blast shortly after 4 a.m. Monday left a 12-inch (30-centimeter) hole in the man's car on the second floor of the garage behind the Luxor hotel-casino, authorities said. A woman who left the hotel-casino with the man was standing nearby but escaped injury.

The man, who had just finished his shift at a hot dog stand inside the casino, was considered to be the target, though police don't know why.

"This appears to have been a small device that was constructed in such a way to target a single individual victim," Deputy Police Chief Ted Moody said.

Police did not immediately identify the dead man or the uninjured woman.

I’m sick and f**king tired of “biting our tongues” on Islamic terrorism. Who the hell cares if they are tied to “international terrorism” or not? They are Islamists and are trying to kill us. What’s the common theme here? Quit skirting the issue Mr. President. Quit trying to tiptoe around calling radical Islam an “evil religion” much like the Soviet Union was an “evil empire.” They are at war with us but we’re not. We need to start treating it like a war or we will lose.

Thank you very much for the update.

I'm NOT a conspiritorial theorist but I've learned to have my antennae up when a particular story that appears on the national news, then completely disappears.
