If memory serves Hagel is up for re-election to the Senate in 08, I saw somewhere he may have a serious challenge in the primary. Maybe a run for President would insure his defeat in the Senate race.
We can only hope!

Who would vote for Hagel? What word would you use to describe his charisma?

“The question is how did Hillary get to Bloomberg?”
The only way I could imagine is that she promised tacit support for her Senate seat if she were elected President. That is pure speculation on my part, of course.

Another Ross Perot ??? Who would vote for him?
If Fred Thompson runs, he'll not only get conservative votes, he'll pull in independent and moderate votes too. Moonbats will just vote for the Dim. Hagel's a loser.

Since an Independent run would lead to an anti-American lib President who will stab our troops in the front and back, I see a Hagel Independent run as a real possibility.

Problem is, Hagel may get a lot of adoring press,He already does. He is on MTP almost as much as Biden is. He is what McCain was in 2000.
To: NeoCaveman
Hagel would get exactly <1% of the Rep vote, probably pull much higher on the Dem side. He’s down into the 30’s in his popularity for his Senate run, effectively a dead senator walking. Probably wants to buck up his “retirement fund” from contributions.

CF: 99% of Republicans voters nation wide will not fall for this crap and they will not vote for Hagel. Do you know that Hagel rating in his state of Nebraska is like 42% according to a poll published today?!

Hagel has got to be a legend in his own mind to think enough people would back him to make a decent run.

A while back someone posted a poll showing that if Bloomburg ran as an Ind he would draw 4-5% of the Rep vote and next to nothing from the Dims.

"If he actually goes through with it, he could be a BIG problem."Who in the hell would vote for him? He may attract a few conservative dems and perhaps a couple of country club republicans, who probably voted for John Kerry anyway.
