Richard, thanks for posting this; and you’re right, plenty of people, even on FR, don’t know the REAL facts about what happened back then.

A good Freeper NEVER loses a good bookmark, huh? :-)

Nice fireworks Richard...its amazing the info from the 1993 attack as well as TWA 800 that makes things make so much sense now.

The pattern of attacks by Al Qeada is pretty clear, regardless of country...they attack after any major change in power. Democrat or republican, it does not matter, so in 2008-2009 we should be on alert for anything IMO.

If you are the same Richard Poe, I loved your book, Hillary’s Secret War.

If fact it was your book that led me to Free Republic after I read the forward by Jim Robinson.

Therefore I owe you for more than just a great book!

Apr. 19, 1995 - A car bomb destroys the Murrow Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people and wounding over 600...

The Clintonistas took the same tack in the OKC bombing, refusing to look past Tim McVeigh & Terry Nichols or hear eyewitness's accounts of possible other involvement.

Atta-Boy for the good work.

Could these two facts be related?

To believe that the WTC bombing was related to the replacement of U.S. Attorneys, you'd have to believe that, had it not been for the bombing, Clinton would have left in place most or all of the Bush 41 appointees. Is that your position -- that Clinton put good governance above politics? If so, I hope you don't get zotted for pro-Clintonism!

Reagan, Clinton, and Bush 43 all put their own people into most of these jobs. (At least, that's what I read in the MSM, in the form of the Los Angeles Times: "A history of replacing U.S. attorneys". If their statistics are wrong, please let us know.) The only relationship between the events is that the terrorists happened to strike early in a new administration, when the replacement of the USA's was just getting underway.

Keep me pinged. I am not in a forgiving mood toward Miz Hill. She has splainin’ to do. For one thing, how did she know to cancel out of a week’s appearances in California and catch the first plane east, one day BEFORE Vince Foster was found dead? That is difficult to explain unless she knew he was about to be hit. And how dare she raid Foster’s office and remove boxes of files before police could examine them? That was industrial-strength obstruction of justice.

This is nonsense. Here are some FACTS:

In Reagan’s first two years, he replaced 89 U.S. Attorneys.

In Clinton’s first two years, he replaced 89 U.S. Attorneys.

In Bush’s (43) first two years, he replaced 88 U.S. Attorneys.

This is common practice — unlike dismissing U.S. Attorneys in the middle of a president’s term. Before Bush’s dismissal of 8 U.S. Attorneys in 2006 and 2007, dismissals only 4 such dismissals had occurred in the time between 1978 and 2006.

As bad as this is. ..the worst is that it goes unchallenged; and that those who inititate this brand of governance are out there; with mouth's parched for power and counting on their return to where it is greatest.

Sickening. . .and silent Repub Leadership; even moreso. . .

Why stop there? The Oklahoma City bombing of the Murrah Building had Iraqi fingerprints all over it:

"This fascinating product of Jayna Davis's near-decade of brave, thorough, and dogged investigative reporting effectively shifts the burden of proof to those who would still contend that McVeigh and Nichols executed the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing without the support of a group or groups from the Middle East."

R. James Woolsey
Director of Central Intelligence, 1993-95
