This news, while certainly unwelcome, will not diminish my support of Senator Thompson.

People forget just how sick Ike, FDR, and the sainted JFK were at times, when they were in power. Read "The Dark Side of Camelot" if you doubt my words about President Kennedy.

I truly hope Fred Thompson runs, because I will not stir for any of the others.

My support for Fred increases every day. If he decides not to run, I’ll probably end up voting for whoever is the nominee, but without enthusiasm.

I predict Fred Thompson will be one of our greatest, most beloved presidents.

I just know they timed this news conference to pre-empt Fred’s appearance. It’s a conspiracy, I tell you!!

thompson / gingrich 2008?

Sorry, the Newt-ster shot himself in the putz today when he endorsed "60%" of Horse-face's "Earth in the Lurch"-wannabee book on Gore-bull warming.

Which of the current contenders has NOT had some kind of cancer?

Mitt Romney.

I think his “illness” can benefit his candidacy.

Sad to say but lots of people vote because they sympathize and because they have survived it either as victims themselves or as witnesses to others who have survived.

And there are millions of those.

I think Thompson would be a great President.

Yes, it is, and he has just said that he’s thinking about running...I’m overjoyed to hear that.

He is very good. Way out in front of the issue.

He will define how it is presented, not the media.

Thompson said he was diagnosed with the "good" type of lymphoma a few years ago...

There isn't any "good" NHL. It is only bad or worse. If he was diagnosed "a few years ago", the clock started ticking that much sooner. In remission now, but it will be back, and that while he would be President. Other candidates have had prostate cancer, but prostate cancer is much more indolent than NHL. Should Thompson get the nomination, it would be a major problem in getting him elected. The MSM would be hanging black crepe all about his campaign, characterizing him as a dead man walking.

Don’t bother insulting me, I write what I believe.

I’m watching the interview. It adds to my belief - for not just the health reasons- that Fred Thompson will not be elected President in 2008.

I watched another interview this week. Barak Obama with David Letterman. For the first time I felt the very uneasy belief- and downright scary- that he could be elected President in 2008.

I was looking forward to seeing what Fred could bring to the discussion, but he is not a viable candidate at this time, sorry.

You'll pardon me if I laugh out loud at your post.

It’s not what I feel about the other candidates. It’s what I feel about myself and my country....
