Personally, I would like to hear of some simple cat food recipes.

We grind chicken raw with the bones for our cats. Just as a supplement to their dry food.

*wince* I was expecting something like that comment, but it least it was not the “catch more mice for them” one that I was waiting for.

My cat won’t eat mice. He only kills them.

Xylitol, an artificial sweetener in chewing gum and diabetic products, can lower a dog’s blood sugar and lead to liver failure.

I checked this out, it sure is amazing what they put in these foods
http://www.dolittler.com/index.cfm/2007/3/22/pet.vet.dog.cat.xylitol.pet%20food%20recall.3.22.07

My son was feeding his dog senior dry food from Costco, when he wasn’t eating last week son bought him alpo, next day dog sick, that night recall on alpo, the dog has been in the vet center, this will be the dogs second night on iv’s and doc says he isn’t doing well. Vet says she his liver enzmes are high and doesnt THINK it is kidney failure.I wonder if they use this ingredient for senior dogs to keep their weight down. Son’s dog will be probalby put down tomorrow, cannot believe this.
Does anyone know how to check ingredients on Kirkland food, which is made by the Diamond food companyy that had a class action lawsuit 2 years ago for 100 dogs dying of rat poison.

Here is a link that shows Costco food is made there.

After putting my dog down last week, from eating recalled food I have not stopped researching everything, everything I can.

We grind a bunch and freeze individual portions until they are needed.

Ha! No offense taken. I love to cook and was checking into unexplored territory - canine cuisine.

Plus, I finally decided to use the bone-shaped cookie cutter my son purchased a couple of years ago when he was 8. He loves his dogs!

“Personally, I would like to hear of some simple cat food recipes.”

You still have to skin and cook the cats or the dog wont eat them.

Reminds me of a Ron White joke...stop me if you've heard it!

His wife was such a terrible cook, Ron couldn't eat his dinner, so he gave it to his dog Sluggo. Sluggo took one bite, went to the corner and started licking his butt.

His wife asked, "What's wrong with the dog?"

Ron replied, "Probably trying to get the taste out of his mouth."

My cat saw a mouse one time on the screened porch, then sat there looking at it while I caught it in a shoebox and tossed it out the back door. (The mouse, not the cat.)
