I got this e-mail last night. I suspect there will be some very notable names connected to it.
"Michael - I wanted to give you the heads up. The official 'Draft Fred Thompson 2008' political committee is being filed with the F.E.C. as we speak and will be announced sometime tomorrow. It is being set up as an unauthorized/non-connected 527 committee and will serve as a vehicle for supporters from across the country to express their desire to see Senator Thompson run."

Sheesh.... the GOP is going to look like the dems in 2004 with 15 candidates running. We are toast if we do not solidify our strength and have assurances that our candidate will follow through our agenda for support.
To: Sturm Ruger
Whoo Hoo! This is what I've been looking for!
I desperately want someone who will stand up for his beliefs, and stand up for his party. (and by doing so, will inspire the conservatives in congress to stand up for themselves also)

A Thompson candidacy might do exactly that.

You do know it's roughly 11 months to the first primary, right? Not like we have to jump behind one candidate in march 2007 for the presidential election to be held november of 2008.

Maybe because then you wouldn't have anything to carp about 24/7?

I'd vote for Thompson long before I'd hold my nose and vote for McCain or Giuliani.

Fred Thompson is a great man, a true patriot and statesman with good conservative values. I think he would make a great candidate.
