Most dems find anything at all to do with the military just beneath them.
Just now read it.
From my many visits to Walter Reed in particular
I know of TWO TIMES he has been there in the past 18 months!!!
jonrick has it just exactly right!!!
trying to show how an inadequate medical system can't support increased troop deployments
It is ALL part of the plan to destroy the "military machine" - mark my words!
I doubt he has a good bedside manner.
Chuck's talents lie more along the lines of speechifying, smiling for pictures, sneering, lying, exposing people's personal information and kicking people when they are down.
He was merely trolling for votes, I'd guess.
Thanks for that, Justa. I was pretty sure that was the case and it's great to see you confirm it. murtha is a deceitful, despicable person.
jaz, i missed your earlier post. Thanks for putting it up : )
murtha addressed jack.
WR was a cornerstone of his campaign.
In all the news clips, anyone with half a brain (as Dad used to say) would notice the floors were clean enough to eat off...
Yes he is!!! I reported about the ONE TIME he went to WR during the election cycle. They guys were hoping mad that he had the audacity to show up there. He received a VERY CHILLY reception!
Operative words!
Not gonna touch it. Nosireebob. Can't make me.
What they are all failing to realize is this: The VA does NOT fall under the DOD or MEDDAC. And, WRAMC was on the chopping block; it was due to close under the new BRAC; so, they fired a general for not maintaining a hospital, that the same congress voted to shut down and turn off the funds...
The majority of his voters have no interest in anyone who serves in the United States military (unless they have become antiAmerica) and are simply looking for goverment assistance and the downfall of "The Man" and all that stands for.
At risk of ruffling a feather or two I would suggest nonetheless that this politician is supporting the troops, particularly the permanently disabled, more than perhaps 80% of Washington is right now, and more than sending millions of dollars in a dump truck tommorrow to WR would EVER accomplish:
He refuses to call his vote, and thus the war, a mistake.
I can think of no greater way to crush the spirit of a man than have him go to hell and return, even minus a piece of himself, just to have him spend the rest of his life told it was all a MISTAKE.
Let's really think within ourselves what we're supposed to be outraged about. Not the buildings, but the men they reported as disillusioned, having no hope, no desire to recuperate.
I don't think holes or mice or dirty floors did that to men who just returned from hell.
**** these inquiries to soothe politicians and fuel the media. It doesn't take a congressional inquiry to see that winning a war is more of an elixir than fresh paint on the wall.
I didn't go to war, but I did four in the USN on a flight deck from '79-83, and getting hurt or dying was accepted as a risk.
Losing a war would be unthinkable.
We've let the left do it again. No Vietnam 2. Please.
Because of the contributions of our soldiers, Saddam can never again threaten the region and our vital trading partners with WMD, whether a bluff or not- no requirement to produce any after the fact exists. Anywhere.
Our men died, today Kurds live and prosper for it.
There was no mistake, and their victory should never be disparaged by the inability of the vanquished enemy to behave in a civil manner.
It would be silly to rush to paint walls, when what we need to do, is heal men- inside and out.
Contemptible he is.
Do you think that this business of Imus putting him down some last month might be a factor in what has been happening to Imus lately?
You certainly do have me thinking so.
That was not Das Kapital you read but The Communist Manifesto.
