Radio host Don Imus on Friday took an obviously flustered Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., to task for never bothering up to visit wounded soldiers at the military's Walter Reed Hospital.
While Schumer was quick to blast the Bush administration for failing to maintain facilities for wounded military personnel at Walter Reed, he was apparently surprised when Imus began questioning him about his own dealings with Walter

With the partisan media, we miss that kind of grilling of *all* politicians, to our detriment.
That is a real smack down. Thanks for posting it.
Chuckie not going to WRAH? Why should this be a suprise? He never responded to our request with help to secure service records that were misplaced.

If Chuckie knew that there were news cameras in WRAH, he would have been all over it. The most dangerous place in Washington, D.C. is between Chuckie and a TV camera.
I'm sure that the list of Dims that has ever visited Walter Reed is quite short.
Chuckie Cheese claims he's been to lots of VA hospitals, all over his state. I think he's lying because it's harder to fact check than if he'd been to WRAMC. Somebody needs to find out the truth on this. He's looking really bad here, and could wind up looking worse if some intrepid individual follows up on this. God, that guy makes my skin crawl! I'm no fan of Imus, but he can do interviews like no one.
Good for Imus. Where the heck was the Congressional oversight, Chuckie?
Shumer is a putzhead.
So many thousands of wounded have filtered through the VA system over the past four years. Yet, none of the critters were aware of problems. This means none of the thousands of wounded or their families bothered to contact their critter with complaints. They were completely unaware.
BS.
I agree... I'm sure Chuckie thought this was going to be a breeze, just tossing jokes back and forth, and he ran into the meat grinder. Nice to see that Imus can be relevant every once in a blue moon or so.
Mass. you are far to kind on the likes of schumer.
What does he like? Other than power and pubicity?
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.and Sen.Tom Harkin, D-IA are dishonest liers. Their sick minds get our soldiers killed. Imus is just a cowboy-hatted shill for his own ego. When folks like that interact I will leave the room and bar the doors. However, media suck-ups are letting this crap spill into the streets and brainwash the many like minded fools. I hope they destroy each other. They certainly have the tools.
Our Commander and Chief, President Bush is NOT one of "them." I have more faith and trust in him than any lib, rino, or demorat.
New Miossouri Senator McCaskill has never been inside Walter Reed either but from the sound of her mouth, you'd think she was born there.
Moveon.org, DailyKos, and Democratic Underground will be pleased.

Biography
In 2004, New Yorkers re-elected U.S. Senator Charles E. Chuck Schumer to represent the State of New York in the U.S. Senate for a second-six year term. Chuck started off his second term by being appointed to the Democratic Leadership team by Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). Chuck also earned a seat on the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees the nations tax, trade, social security and health care legislation.

GOOD to know he's "fighting" for the Veterans, eh...???
"[Montana has ONE]"
I think the fact that NYS has about 21 times the population of Montana might have something to do with the disparity in number of VA Hospitals. But I could be wrong.
