Shooting Elephants in a Barrel [Ann Coulter]
Human Events ^ | March 7, 2007 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 03/07/2007 3:56:09 PM PST by kabar

Lewis Libby has now been found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice for lies that had absolutely no legal consequence.

It was not a crime to reveal Valerie Plame's name because she was not a covert agent. If it had been a crime, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could have wrapped up his investigation with an indictment of the State Department's Richard Armitage on the first day of his investigation since it was Armitage who revealed her name and Fitzgerald knew it.

With no crime to investigate, Fitzgerald pursued a pointless investigation into nothing, getting a lot of White House officials to make statements under oath and hoping some of their recollections would end up conflicting with other witness recollections, so he could charge some Republican with "perjury" and enjoy the fawning media attention.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

This makes it official: It's illegal to be Republican.

It's hard to blame the outcome of this and other outrages on anything other than the unwillingness of this administration to fight back. The turn the other cheek new tone let true believers carry the water jive has led to this. We allow these cowards to play us for chumps. They make me sick.

So what do you think?

Did Friz simply feed Libby to the sharks since he knew he had to give the media mob something or get the press reaming to end all reaming if he had come out and said "nothing to see here, no crime, move along now". Or did he do it to grab his 15 minutes of fame?

So Mr Fritzgerald, did you do this show trial because of your out of control ego or merely due to cowardice?

It would be nice if a good portion of Republicans and Conservatives would fight against the politicized prosecution of Republicans such as Tom Delay instead of trying to lynch Ann Coulter because they're so scared of drive by media opinion.

Actually, that's unfair. Some of the Conservative critics of Ann Coulter aren't cowards; they're merely stupid; however, you stupid types can read my earlier posts explaining the good that Ann Coulter did at the CPAC to clear up your confusion.

"...befriending the office hosebag..."

LOL! That's gonna leave a mark...

I can also hear conservative/Republican heads exploding all over the Net.

Hide the children! Ann's back!

Couldn't agree with you more. I attended CPAC. There is no doubt who was the biggest draw and who had the best rapport with the 3,000 college students who attended. The Left has been clamoring for more outrage from the Right to denounce Ann. They want our assistance to silence her and make her a pariah. Lenin described such people as "useful idiots."

The Libby trial is the Seinfield of American jurisprudence...a trial about nothing. However, the long term damage it has done to the rule of law in this country is immense.

Ultimately though, it (and all of the other examples mentioned by Ann) are proof positive that the Republican leadership lacks spines, gonads, and a moral compass. Unless they find them soon, the Republican party will go the way of the Whigs and Know-Nothings in less than 12 years.

Note to moron screamer crowd.

There is nothing the Administration could of done about it.

To refuse to even investigate would of been an effort to conceal what may have been a crime. They were dealt a total loser of a PR hand by a "News Media" that simply failed to even remotely cover this factually, plus a gutless Congressional Leadership that would rather run and hide then actually talk back to the Dems on ANYTHING

So instead of simply screaming mindless hate as you super silly childish twits always do. How about you idiots finally, ONE BLEEDING TIME, put some constructive ideas on what SHOULD OF BEEN DONE on the table instead of just going off into your usual hysterically ignorant "I hate Bush" rants?

Perhaps instead of finding some pathetic need to scream the same stupid macho boy idiocy thread after thread after thread, you all might actually try ONE time to find the guts to ever attack the Leftist's on anything. How about you try dealing in political reality ONCE instead of clinging mindlessly to your fantasies that real politics works your favorite TV action movies you all endlessly watch and rewatch while waiting for the welfare checks to arrive at your trailer park?

This pathetic need of you losers to twist every thread into an excuse to scream your idiot hate for GW Bush at the top of you lungs is WAY past old.

Just GET OFF OUR SIDE. We neither want, nor need, the moron "HELP" of idiots whose only contribution to any thread is to mindlessly scream bile at their own side.

The first thing the Republicans should have done after they settled the contested 2000 election was taken a group of selected Democrats out for a pack of smokes (ala Band of Brothers - Days of Days).

The next thing the Bush Administration should do is seed the Justice Department with several groups of jihadi ILD (Improvised Legal Device) lawyers, with orders to disrupt the next Democrat Justice Department until they get several high-profile Democrats in front of a judge.

The Stupid Party - what a crowd of sissies.

I think Fitzgerald had some personal animus towards Libby. He didn't like the fact that Libby called Mark Rich to congratulate him on his pardon even though Libby was the VP's Chief of Staff. I think it was payback.

Good points all! Incidentally, I have the news that John Edwards skipped out on a debate forum run by Fox News. Edwards skips out on debate

Ann Coulter is right! John Edwards is a faggot! I only wish people would have the decency to apologize for their attacks on Ann for this one.

HEY, here is idea.

Instead of making the same fatuous pompous pronouncements thread after thread after thread. HOW about the Blow Hard wing of the Self Fragging "Conservatives" try one time actually coming to a thread and attack the Left on ANYTHING?

It would be such a delightful change from their desperate need to find some childish idiot excuse on EVERY thread to shoot their own side in the back.

We got an election in about 18 months. How about all you self proclaimed political know it alls quit wasting our time with your pompous pronouncements and actually try RUNNING for something?

If any of you ever actually WIN an election to something, then we will take your hysteric chicken little pronouncements seriously. Until that time, quit wasting our time with your arrogant self regarding ignorance of reality.

The administration certainly could have prosecuted Sandy Berger in a way in which he would have got jailtime.
