Escalante is in Utah. However, we have our own share of global warming nutcakes, starting with the GovZilla, Bill Richardson. Interestingly enough, the Navajo Tribe wants to build a new clean-coal generating plant in NW NM, but the envirowackos are opposing it of course.

"His home is undoubtedly powered by solar or wind power, isn't it?"

You haven't kept up. Windmills are sight pollution and kill bats. They are evil. Just ask the Sierra Club.

You're right, of course - and no doubt harming the lice would set the PETA people screeching; all creatures are equal, after all, even lice. So I guess the wearing of animal skins is out - better plan on a grass skirt or something. In fact, better plan on living out in the open, since the Moslems will long since have conquered all the best caves, and our neo-neoliths will be against the cutting of trees for shelter - or anything else.

"wind power, isn't it?"

Half right. It is wind indeed which powers nothing worth powering.

I think the National Press Club is full of dangerous gas. Let's bulldoze that instead.

Well, it is about time for us to use more 20th century power (nuclear) and less 19th century power (coal), but I don't suppose these clowns like that idea either.

"Top global warming scientist" means one who has sold out to
Algore. Any scientist with a shred of humility would not let
himself be referred to in that way. I'll take the opinion of
Prof. Lindzen of MIT any day over that of Hansen.

Ho-hum...

More evidence of the "suppression" of "the TRUTH about Global Warming" by our evil White House...

A mental midget. He wants Americans to freeze in winter and sweat in summer.

James Hansen and other demented moonbats want to destroy our technologically advanced civilization. It'll lead to the human race dying off faster. Beneath their vaunted concern for the earth is a hatred of mankind.

Hansen endorses nuclear power:

"If power plants are to achieve the goals of the alternative scenario, construction of new coal-fired power plants should be delayed until the technology needed to capture and sequester their CO2 emissions is available. In the interim, new electricity requirements should be met by the use of renewable energies such as wind power as well as by nuclear power and other sources that do not produce CO2."

“must eventually be bulldozed (before mid-century).”

Way before 2050, this guy and his ilk will have been shown to be a fool and imbecile.

The author of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming (and Environmentalism)", was on the radio this morning.

Some take away points:

1. CO2 is responsible for 2% of global warming.
2. Man (anthropogenic sources) is responsible for 2% of the CO2 in the atmosphere.
3. Therefore, at great expense we can alter 1/2500 of the problem.
4. The sea level rise of 20 feet was always fiction, the UN now says 7 to 17 inches; worst case.
5. UN says man adds 1.5 watts per square meter of heat on the earths surface.
6. The sun is now adding 20 more watts per square meter due to increased solar activity recently. Man can't fight the sun.
7. Politians vote for this stuff because they are after "cheap virtue". That's another word for liberalism.

You'd have a better time convincing me if you keep to the me line that coal-plants produce too much smoke and pollution that affect the wildlife and the water around them. Dirty air and water are things that we can see and observe and they are yucky. The greenhouse stuff -- not so much.

"Then they came for my greenhouse gases . . .

"Half right. It is wind indeed which powers nothing worth powering."

In Texas, take the generation curve of wind generation, turn I upside down and is the demand curve of load. Wind generation makes someone feel good but it is more costly because real geneneration has to be available to pick up the demand when the wind does not blow.

Without the tax credits worthless wind would just be that, worthless.

ISn't Hansen the one who said it was OK to lie to the people through propaganda if the reason for doing it was good?
