While you were sleazing

We have a serious natural resource shortage today, and it's not oil, coal or natural gas. It's class, more specifically a shortage of females who know how to use the wiles of their sexuality.

I recently came across a replay of Hugh Hefner's 80th birthday party on TV. I watched for a few minutes the same way you would watch a train wreck or liposuction on the Discovery Channel.

Hefner appeared tired, like he was thinking a 9 o'clock bedtime wouldn't have been a bad idea after all. At times his mouth gaped with a sort of disconnectedness as he watched the, uh, performers.

Performers is an overstatement. Let's just say even your most experienced floozies, bar flies and hussies could catch a chill prancing around in such little attire. What was most amazing were the number of floozies crowding onto the stage, slinking, writhing and crying for attention. Look at me! Look at me! Supply outstripped demand in more ways than one.

Couple Hef's party with the endless stream of stories on Paris and Nicole, Lindsey, Britney, a tearful and tawdry Miss America, the strippers at Duke and Girls Gone Wild, and we logically conclude that we are witnessing the fruition of the sexual revolution -- women behaving like the most degenerate of men.

It has been a race to the bottom and, by bimbo, we gals have given it our all.

Hugh Hefner is a dirty old man. But these girls will do anything for attention, fame and money - and he has them both.

The funniest part is when these girls say they love him, love being with him, he is so funny, etc. Yeah - right...like you would even look at him if he was Hugh the retired postal worker...

I remember has a pre-teen watching Dean Martin and the Golddigger on TV. Forget the despicable name of the girl group. But even at that young age, I remember being uncomfortable with all the girls surrounding one man, there for his every wish and whim. Not talking, just BEING there.

I thought all these years women fought against that image. But Hollywood has stepped that image up to a level I couldn't have imagined in my youth. PUSSYCAT DOLLS anyone? I'm not against women using their God given assets...but what do we lose as a Society?

There is little mystery today, few matters are held in private, and virtually nothing is left to the imagination.

Basically, our sick culture has cheapened sexuality to the point that it doesn't mean anything anymore. It's no wonder that relations between men and women have sunk to a new low. It's no wonder divorce is so common. I can barely find any ladies who are both approachable and reserved in this way. The ones that are quiet and reserved are so quiet that getting a single sentence out of them is like pulling teeth. The other kind are those like Lindsay Lohan. There's just not a happy medium anymore.

Yet, not all feminine charms are wasted. You still see them practiced by the smart ones, the ones who understand that sexy can mean keeping it covered and that you don't give away the store.

If any of you happen to see any like these, please drop me an email.

I know a few, but unfortunately, it is like the very joke women tell about men:

All the available ones are like parking spaces-Taken, Reserved, or Handicapped.

If I'm not mistaken, the tearful and tawdry beauty pageant queen she's referring to was Miss USA Tara Conner, not Miss America. As for the Duke strippers, they're pretty much representative of whores throughout history. They're certainly nothing new. I think it's shaky to lump together celebrity culture and the dregs of society. The former has shifted considerably (and for the most part toward slutdom); the latter is no more dissolute than ever.

I'm hoping that other Gen-Xers like myself are trending to be more conservative (rejecting the baby-boomers liberalism/lifestyle) and refuse to let their daughters be exposed to MTV/pop culture trash.

Good luck, brother. They are out there but not advertizing.

I caught Beauty Shop last night on cable.

Very funny movie and surprised to see Kevin Bacon, Andie MacDowell and Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond)in supporting roles.

What jumped out at me was the young boy whose hobby was video-taping women's rears. He said music videos won't sell without the booty. It's all about "the booty".

Having caught 30 seconds...okay, maybe 45.....of some MTV I tend to agree.

I used to hide my father's old Playboy under my mattress. Kids today just need a TV with a remote.

It is notable that Hef is an across-the-board lefty and a supporter of the ERA that was halted by Eagle Forum/Stop ERA and good conservative women.

Way back when Hef was dating Barbie Benton she told of telling him that she had never dated anybody over 30 and Hef told her "neither have I". Obviously there is something immature and sad about that.

Some feminists said that Playboy wasn't so bad because the girls all looked so happy. Indeed, they did look happy and healthy. It was the Playboy philosophy and the magazine's written words that were much more subversive than the pictures.

It's not just "baby boomers"..... many younger folks seem to have embraced the "culture trash." Like my daughter in law.....

Ditto to that. I was watching a national free cable channel last night. I saw a seductive ad for KY Jelly. I should not have been surprised. The most prevalent theme in American advertising is: "If you use (insert name of product here), you will get laid by a really good looking person of the opposite sex. The world has changed, my friends.

This has always been a part of our culture unfortunately. It just used to be hidden and done in secret.

I loved the last part of the article.

We are certainly in a sad state of affairs.

Our dignity and possibly our entire culture. It was planned that way, mind you...

Even when you find a decent show to watch with the family, the commercials are enough to make a sailor blush!

I still say commercials should be rated as well, and only commercials rated the same as the show could be shown together. I get tired of watching rated E Star Trek and having to dive for the remote because of the MA rated commercial about girls gone wild.

Mind you, I was perfectly OK with most of this until I had my own daughter...
