Coyotes? Do you mean the prostitution advocates group (Cut Out Your Old Tired EthicS)?

Thanks for the headsup Doomonyou.

Here is a list of some of the coyote attacks that have occurred across the country:

http://www.varmintal.com/attac.htm

Here is how to hunt them. If there are any places near by where hunting is permitted, coyotes can be called to that area:

http://www.varmintal.com/ahunt.htm

The hunting season on coyotes in CA is all year and there is no limit.

My brother lives in the hills out there and never allows his small dogs or cats out at night. That's coyote territory and it always has been (along with snakes and lizards, of course).

cop I know shot a 125 lb coyote that was walking down Broadway in Malden MA at 7:00 in the morning. He got crap for it.
As he should. That pup should have been relocated to Beacon Hill!

Who is cruising around Tijeras getting all the Cougars drunk?

You will also note that I did correct it.

And misspelled "oops" when you did. ;^)

Among other things, like fawns, they can decimate a deer herd in a couple years if not controlled.

Intown neighborhoods in Atlanta now have both, coyotes and deer.

These people have obviously infringed on their territory with their homes and roads and such. They need to move and give the land back to the coyotes! Ya'll know I'm being sarcastic, right?

No sarcasm at all. That's exactly what the residents of this neighborhood expect Idahoans to do about wolf introduction, which they heartily support through donations to Sierra Club and such. I used to live right in the middle of the area. It's full of yuppies and actor/writer wannabes.

I'm in La Verne also---a coyote almost ate my daughter's Pomeranian. They can jump six foot fences.

Had to laugh. My Siberian husky also considers the coyotes and wolves around here (Black Hills of South Dakota) as kindred spirits. Last spring our husky, Alyeska, brought two wolf pups home. Don't know what happened to mama wolf or the rest of the litter. The pups didn't survive.

The wolves and coyotes, so far, have not been a problem around here. But, the mountain lions are another story.

Must be a slow news day; this is NOT news. In the mid-70s I lived on Vista above Franklin, and they used to come out of the hills, often past the ruins of the old Errol Flynn mansion, and just saunter down the middle of the street.

In rural Illinois, some adventurous dogs would apparently hear the call of the wild and run off with the coyotes/coydogs. My St. Bernard/Bloodhound mix left for 3 weeks before coming home. Boy o boy was he buggered up. I often wonder if the coyotes go a little bigger after that.

You bet it is unmistakable. :) They sound like a pack of kids racing through a neighborhood raising heck.

Don't know if this is true or not but...we have heard one will gain the trust of a dog by playing etc. then he walks away and the dog follows and beyond is the pack. Anyone know enough about coyotes to confirm that?

Well, no matter where one lives, I don't think it is a good idea anytime to put dog food outside. It can draw skunks, racoons and obviously Coyotes as well.
