"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I could say "the sky is falling" an pretend this is Chicken Little. But, considering war was justified and promoted by the left to fight Nazis, but not Communists in the last 100 years, I'm a little more sobered.
Does this Hedges guy want to fight the "axis of evil" as in James Dobson, Pope Benedict etc? That's scary considering who our real enemies are in this world. Some want to kill us all including Hedges unless he bows to their god.
The interesting thing here is that the left is constantly and continually demonizing "the religious right" just as Hitler and the nazis demonized the Jews.
The left are the fascists.

The objective of all of this Chicken Little squawking is to convince us that the Constitution is falling -- that conservative Christians intend to abolish the Bill of Rights, outlaw sin and replace democracy with a theocratic state that will make Calvins Geneva look like Hugh Hefners bachelor party.
I must disagree with the author's conclusion, as I noted above. I wondered why supposedly educated people would write such tripe when, in our day and time, it could be so easily refuted. Plus, why would these books merit publication. Surely they are not overtly successful business ventures; that is make a lot of money. The author supplies the real reason such books are written and published.
Such sentiments are endlessly repeated as an article of faith by politicians, journalists and entertainers.
At some point in the future, these books will be referenced as insightful scholarly works and used as justification to deprive anyone identified as part of the "Religious Right" of their Constitutional rights, even disenfranchisement, or imprisonment/death.
This is why these books are being written and published.
Yeah, and they are succeeding...The dumbing down of morales and values alone is a huge sign the country is on a direct path to crumbling and the sadist part about it is we are allowing it to happen right infront of our eyes. As the CHURCH sat and did nothing during the nazi death march to slaughter 6 million Jews during WWII, it now sits in the pews complaining about all this while doing absolutely nothing about it. If this country refuses to acknowledge a Creator, a God, as one who gives the people inalieable rights, if it allows out of control, usurping judiciary to make unconstitutional law from the bench, it will be know more.
What are we going to DO about it?
At least an organized one..
Fascism didn't die in the ashes of Europe. It flourishes in the dreams of the Left.
Juvenile delinquents have always compared mature, responsible adults with "fascists."
It seems the political Left always accuses its enemies of doing what it itself is doing. Listen to their slogans about the so-called Religious Right, and you can see their own wish list/game plan.
Feder is absolutely correct to note that the worst censorship of speech and ideas in the United States emanates from the "Ivy Halls of Academe," where Leftist brown shirts are firmly in charge.
Thanks for the great post, goldstategop!
Yep.
