I've thought of that. Fortunately, I won't need much ('cause I don't want much) and I can probably earn anything over 12K in the underground economy.

Is anyone other than me predicting violent revolution, if this becomes law?
No.
We stood by on Affirmative Action and Kelo. The good American people will lick the hand that tightens the collar around their necks. Meanwhile, the government is electing a more pliant demos.

And because I was fortunate enough in the 60's and 70's to be a stay at home Mom I'm now paying the penalty for that. I can't collect my own SS as I don't have enough credit hours so depend on 1/2 of my husbands SS earnings. And yet if I were an illegal......working in USA for as little as 18 months I could collect SS. Something wrong with this picture and yet today it doesn't surprise me in the least. Thanks to our own government this is today's America............

There is a response, if you have the guts:
Class action lawsuit.

This will force the issue inito the nations consciousness in the next 18 months. We either take the country back in 2008 or we are screwed

"Illegal aliens are getting as much as 10 BILLION dollars in refunds (earned income credit) in 2004."

More treason...

So will the illegals, apply for benefits using their illegal social security numbers?

Thanks for that link. Here is what I just posted over there:

"According to a report released in late 2006 by the House Committee of Homeland Security, up to 10 million people entered the United States illegally and un-inspected last year. Georgia watched as its population of illegal aliens increased by 114 percent - the highest rate of growth in the nation."

We probably had 40 million come in just since they started using the 12 million number. They are coming in at higher and faster rates now that amnesty looks like a sure deal.

My guess is that 1/2 of our population in 20 years will either be illegal or a descendent of an origional illegal.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0701/04/gb.01.html

BECK: This is insanity. You know, I just saw a number -- and tell me if this number is right, if you even have it -- I just saw a number on, in 2004, what we paid illegal aliens in tax refunds, 2004. Do you know this number?

CAMAROTA: Yes, I believe -- the figure I`ve heard is about $10 billion. That`s based on estimates that the Treasury Department has done itself, $10 billion they paid back to illegal aliens.

BECK: That is insane. We`re paying them $10 billion, and we can`t arrest them, we can`t even find them, we don`t even know -- $10 billion? And now we`re giving them Social Security, one that we don`t need another country to sabotage for us. We`re doing it ourselves. The whole thing is going to collapse.

CAMAROTA: Yes, and what`s worse than that is, that the IRS issues them tax I.D. numbers so that they can then file their income tax with their false Social Security numbers so that we can give them their $10 billion back.

BECK: OK, all right. So the last thing here -- let me just role play here for a second. I`m an illegal alien. I have to now go to the government and prove to the government that I have a fake I.D., that I bought a fake Social Security card on the street in the black market, and then the government rewards me for that, right?

CAMAROTA: Yes, in effect, sure. Once you get legal status, then you apply for the credits that you earned while you were an illegal alien. And the way you do that is like you said: You show your false documents. You bring out your bogus tax returns, and so forth.

How many years before the gov't tell it's citizens that they should have saved and put money into 401K's or IRA's so they (gov't) can continue social programs for the lazy & illegal?

Since this is done by pols/congress with our money to secure votes, perhaps we can use our SS deductions as a tax deduction for campaign contributions. Ha!

I became an Independent in 2004 and like knarf, am also a Patriot. When (not if) this is signed, both the Dem and Pubie parties will split. We will have 4 political parties and one of those will have a violent interest in the protection of our country.

How many years before the gov't tells us that what little we have saved in 401(k) and IRA accounts must be surrendered to provide social programs for the lazy and the illegals?

Social Security benefits are already taxed.

After reading about the rumors that Bush will accept a Democrat-proposed lifting of the cap on SS payroll taxes, I am convinced: both parties can go to hell.

"Not really when you consider how close the last Mexican election was. The leftist Obrador was a hair's breadth from winning and his cry baby tactics show how desperate the leftists are for power and how popular they are in third world countries."

Yeah there is some truth to that...
