L&O would make something awful out of this. Their "ripped from the headlines" sensationalism appeals to the ghoulish troglodytes who stop their cars in traffic in order to gawk at freeway carnage.
My brother's next door neighbor hired a hit man to kill his business partner, and got caught.
When all the local news crews with cameras descended upon the house, my sister-in-law got to be the neighbor who did the "He was nice man who never caused any trouble" interview. ;-)
That sounds reasonable, but the first half is free money, if he turns his employer in, while the second half comes at a considerable risk.
Personally, I like L&O (at least the older stuff) and I've never really thought of myself as a ghoulish troglodyte who gawks at freeway carnage, but who knows, maybe I was mistaken. But I think the fact that they take things that happened in real life as ideas for their show gives it a sense of authenticity that other shows lack.
Any chance you can find a picture of Cooper Jackson, the sailor that slit the throat of a marine?
The marine, and the girl that goaded the sailor over the INTERNET have plenty of pictures available, but the man that committed the murder, was captured, tried, convicted, and sentenced has no photograph anywhere.

Money?? Nooo.. he only offered it( trying not to laugh, not very well.. ). If he did I would not keep it under any circumstances. ( ROTFLHAO )
Nah, no one gets points for killing a pregnant woman with a small child... But many will get point for getting the husband when he gets to prison...
Don't take it personally, though. I've watched the show on occasion and found it well-written and thoughtful when the subject isn't a "ripped from the headlines" dramatization.
And when I pass a car wreck it takes a lot for me to keep my eyes on the car ahead of me instead of leering at someone else's misfortunes. Still, I don't look because that just endangers more people.
Hmph... Noone posted this?

That movie is a classic.
I could hit his house with a driver/6 iron. (On a good day) Just Damn!
Good grief!
"It was an acquaintance of his, but he's not a hit man," Capt. Flores said. "It's just someone he knew ... he thought would do this for him."
Lesson #2: IF YOUR FRIEND WOULD DO THIS FOR YOU, HE'D ALSO DO THIS TO YOU!!
What a bonehead!
Or any other woman!!
"He did not go there with the intent to murder her," said Capt. Robert Flores. "He went with the intent to warn her."
I seem to remember that breaking and entering is still a crime.
Kudos to the hitman though.
And "Tell-a-friend" ;)
That's hilarious.
