Maybe it's not in the Democratic Party's nature to bask in a victory.
Just days after retaking the House after a dozen years in the minority, Speaker-in-waiting Nancy Pelosi engineered an intra-party fight. And that guaranteed that the big story the week after the election wasn't about how Democrats were going to get a minimum wage bill through the Congress, but about who was going to be Pelosi's second-in-command.
The favorite for Majority Leader going into Thursday's leadership election was Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, who was already doing the job. But Pelosi wanted her old friend, Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania.
Pelosi came out with a statement Sunday night that she was supporting Murtha. That wasn't so surprising. It's well-known that she and Murtha are political allies from way back and that she and Hoyer have been uncomfortable with each other I'm being polite here ever since Hoyer challenged her for minority leader in 2001.
But what was surprising was that Pelosi didn't stop her support at just a statement.

Nancy can't keep her party from falling apart at the seams, but she's going to bring America together?
Don't kid yourself, they share a common enemy, us.
They've been itching for this moment for a long long time
Carrots & sticks. They'll be speaking in one voice by the time they take over.
I agree. She intentionally wanted to send a signal about loyalty to her dems. This story will be over in a few weeks. She is more concerned about getting all the cats to fall in line next year. Did this move accomplish that goal? Not sure.
And Pelosi's effort to put Alcee Hastings in charge of the intelligence committee, so that Jane Harman won't be, has yet to play out.
Wonder what hastings is going to do when he's kicked to the curb.
Step one, identify areas that need work. "Secret" ballot? Some of the cats have already signaled that they're on board, so they will be rewarded.
Step two, identify most effective stimulus for cats looking for independence. Friendly little chats about their needs from those already in the herd will net the necessary intel.
I almost think this leadership flap was engineered.
bttt
Just a guess, but whatever it is, somehow there'll be a bribe involved.
First they will eat their own and then they will f*** the rest of the American public.

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006
Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews
A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia. The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us, Leftists radicals truly believe the ends justify the means.

Shutting down for awhile....weather out is balmy...got to get out ...
Hoyer said today on MTP that he had comments for Pelosi over Murtha, but he'd take them up 'in private'.
Bend over, kiss her feet, and say, "Yass' sah, Mistrasss!" Just like all the Democrap Black Liberals do. Punks!
Their constant Bush bashing proves they have no clue.
That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
They know Reagans 11th commandment.
Too bad they're not going to air it all out in public, cuz I'd make a batch of popcorn to savor while viewing it.
