I thought it might be interesting for Freepers to record their experiences while voting and their impressions of the electorate's mood.
I'll start. I am in South Florida, a Congressional district where 12-term Republican Congressman E. Clay Shaw is in a close race. Despite the intense liberal sentiment in this district, I have yet to meet anyone who is voting against Shaw.
Both my mother and sister are extreme left-wing Democrats, but they will be voting for Shaw because his office helped them unsnarl some bureaucractic problems with the Federal govt. Mom got a replacement Social Security card and sis got her college financial aid straightened out. Can't vote against Shaw after he did them a favor!
I will post more when I get to the polling booth.

You would simply love Utah.
I voted early, had a 5 minute wait, chatted with my old boss' wife who was taking my information. I voted a straight Republican ticket, and as I glanced through the options, for many of the positions, there wasn't even a Democrat candidate. I watched the paper ticker print up my ballot and mark it correctly, then roll it up on the spool inside the machine.
That is so neat.
Anyone else watch that disturbing 3 hours of MSNBC coverage with Chrissies panel and then the sell out Sh*tloader Country? I felt like I was watching men sell their souls for a steak dinners and consulting contracts. Matthews, Scarborough, Barnacle, Buchanan, et al.
It rain with a chance of soap, hippies won't vote.
Remember what brand of machine?
I'm sorry, I don't.
They were all facing the center of the room, and there were several voting attendants there watching the people insert and remove their key-cards, so I doubt someone could have used multiple ones. As to opening the cases with a key and swapping out the memory card, I looked for the key holes, but didn't see any. The paper trail seemed pretty secure.
It was not a Diebold. I've looked at their machines, and it was not one of those. It had a window for looking at and accepting the printed ballot, and the spool where it was rolled was a large plastic bump not on the Diebold machines.
Now if there could be a monsoon in MO, I'd be happy.
If the soap is on a rope, that will keep the homos from voting as well ;^)
Washington and Oregon are getting blasted right now too with rain and wind (evident to anyone who watched that MNF game tonight). Looks like there will be some rain and snow in parts of MT as well.
She requested help from another election worker who made 3 attempts to get the card set for me. He finally got it working and I placed my vote.
Today, I found out that there have been several double votes cast and at least 1 dead voter showed up at the polls. I made a couple phone calls and told one of my local candidates of my experience. They are checking on it. I just want to make sure my vote is counted....and counted only once!
I took advantage of early voting in Texas voted a week ago. I don't talk politics with folks much any more. When Dems at work start talking, I just keep my mouth shut, shake my head when they say "Repugs always...", roll my eyes when the word "hate" finally pops out, and make dang sure I take a nice vacation day to VOTE!!!
I really have no idea how things will turn out. But I know it will be dang close and that the Dems won't like it. I hope we have lawyers ready to meet their shenannigans. But if everyone who voted for Republicans in the 2004 vote Republican this year, we can shatter the MSM illusions and stand the mid-term on its head.
Here in Oregon we vote by mail, no more going to the polls. I don't like it, but they voted it in...

To all conservatives out there: Get out and vote! You may not be totally happy with what you have but think about what you will get if you sit on your hands. Cutting off your nose to spite your face ins't a good option!
Just think how depressed the msm and liberals will be if ya'll vote!
Let's call tomorrow/today "Take a voter to the polls" day. Make it a night out, a couple of beers, some dinner, a few laughs, and take a conservative to vote!
