In case I have to remind you of the star of vote vets, this should clear it up for you: http://www.votevets.org/
some one had to push Duckworth up to run? (unintended sick humor)
Maybe the VFW felt like endorsing a candidate that was actually from the district.
And that makes you qualified to become a Congressman how? Like I've said before, veteran status is the LAST THING I consider when choosing a candidate. I don't think military service should be exploited for political gain. It appears the VFW feels the same way I do.
One word: Blowback.
Why do these people think they should be supported by service organisations because at one time they were in the service/
Does she belong to the VFW? Is she a member of the American Legion? Does she support a flag amendment? What are her views and opinions? Does she support cut and run?
I can't see a recent poll, but the last one had her up 13 pts
Duckworth bravely sacrificed a lot in defense of her country.
But her sacrifice does not ENTITLE her to a seat in Congress, or even ENTITLE her to the VFW endorsement.
It's all about the political positions taken by the candidate. Nothing more.
"vote the issues" obama will be happy at least thats what he said in maryland
It worked for Jon effin Carry and that yahoo from Georgia who blew his legs off playing with a grenade in 'Nam.
Are you kidding? Can anyone confirm Duckpoop ahead 13 points?
I have no respect for her, service or not.
When the news reported about her, they reported like she was behind.
I agree. It's too bad that people have to use what happened to this woman hoping that the sympathy and that she was a part of Iraq will automatically usher her, who is probably unqualified, into office.
All I have is from Real Clear Politics and Zogby did it (Go Figure). The previous poll has her ahead by one. Thier write up seems to say that things are trending well for Roskam

A vote for Duckworth is like cloning Turban Durbin, he's her mentor. Just what we need. She's a cut and run, illegal immigrant loving liberal. Yechh!
How about the VFW endorsed the candidate the felt best represented their views on a wide range of issues, including veterans affairs? Just being a Vet should not guarantee a lock-in for any candidate.
