Duckworth bravely sacrificed a lot in defense of her country.

But her sacrifice does not ENTITLE her to a seat in Congress, or even ENTITLE her to the VFW endorsement.



It's all about the political positions taken by the candidate. Nothing more.

I agree. It's too bad that people have to use what happened to this woman hoping that the sympathy and that she was a part of Iraq will automatically usher her, who is probably unqualified, into office.

The November issue of VFW magazine has a section listing all of the current vets running for office as well as what they could determine they stand for. Duckworth is listed amongst them.

The article, although not endorsing any of the 6 listed (5 Democrats and 1 Republican) states that none of them list a "well defined stance on Veterans' issues."

Since the VFW is a Veterans Interest group, could it be they endorse the candidate that makes Veterans issues part of their platform, over Iraq?
