Patricia Heaton: Not Everyone Loves Michael J. Fox(Hollywood gossip mongers trash Patricia Heaton)
Fox News ^ | October 26, 2006 | Roger Friedman

Posted on 10/26/2006 8:17:16 AM PDT by Dane

Patricia Heaton — who won an Emmy for her work on "Everyone Loves Raymond" — is taking sides in the stem-cell research debate.

She’s put herself on the opposite side of Michael J. Fox, the much-beloved actor who’s been battling Parkinson’s disease since 1991 and is a firm supporter of embryonic stem-cell research.

Heaton is now appearing in a commercial intended to persuade Missouri voters to vote against Amendment 2 on their ballot.

Fox, in his own commercial, urges voters to support the measure and Democrat Claire McCaskill, who is running for U.S. Senate against the incumbent, Jim Tenant, a Republican who opposes embryonic stem-cell research.

Patricia don't give into the Hollywood liberal democrat clique. I admire you for your standing up to the liberal democrat Hollywood bullies.

I find your lack of pictures disturbing.

I'm also impressed with the stand that she has decided to take. It's a shame that her career is over.

She's a classy lady with values. A rare find in a place like that.

I have to say I feel badly for Fox, he's got a terrible affliction and he's being used by the Dems. He seems like a decent enough chap who'd rather be home with his wife and kids. Not much of a hollywood type either.

Patricia Heaton is one of the few women in TV that got better looking as the years passed.

Many scientists believe stem cell research could lead to cures for Parkinson’s and many other illnesses. Amendment 2 would constitutionally protect any embryonic stem cell research in Missouri that falls within federal law.

Notice how they don't say what kind of stem cell research in the first part of the statement? This is intentionaly misleading.

Who says her career is over? She's just not on "Raymond" any more. She's back on the stage in NY.

Fox stuck his head in the politcal arena and opened his liberal mouth. That makes him a target just like any other person who does the same thing. Just because he has a physical problem, does not entitle him to any special treatment.

His attempted "poor me" theatrics to further the liberal political agenda made him a bona fide target. It also made him an absolute fool.

This is not the first time that she has spoken up for conservative causes, and it hasn't ended her career, so far.

The boob job helped. That's not a shot, just a fact. After four children, she didn't like the way they looked and did something about it, and she's very frank about that. She apparently got a good surgeon, too.

Michael J. Fox consciously, with his own free will, did the misleading and lying democrat party commercials.

I read that whole article and nowhere does it say Patricia said that. She's taking another viewpoint...why does it mean she doesn't like Fox. It's absurd, but so typical of them.

My memory is pathetic but I seem to recall something a few years ago where Patricia Heaton refused to be a part of something on moral grounds. I can't remember any details but she showed her un-Hollywood character then. I've admired her since.

What's interesting in the article is the statement "the question now is if her stand in Missouri will affect her standing in Hollywood." Whoa! I thought that Liberal Hollywood types were the epitome of tolerance and acceptance. I'm shocked! that there is even the possibility that she would be shunned for this stand.

I'll bet she loved playing that b**** Yemeni ambassador in The Path to 911. That's wasn't the part I pegged for her seeing the previews, I thought she'd play the tough lady security agent.
