WASHINGTON -- House Intelligence Chairman Peter Hoekstra has suspended a Democratic staff member because of concerns he may have leaked a high-level intelligence assessment to The New York Times last month.
In a letter obtained by The Associated Press Thursday night, Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Ill., a committee member, said that an unidentified staffer requested the document from National Intelligence Director John Negroponte three days before the Sept. 23 story about its conclusions

What is the big deal? If he is a Democrat, then he is a 'patriot' to leak such information
which damages America.
This would only be serious and newsworthy if he were, say, a Republican.

Well, it's just one other way that the Democrats and the insurgents conspire to effect the elections to their advantage. They don't work together as most conspirators do in all planning and execution, and their motives are not identical. Both do want power at any price. But, by the way, don't question the Democrats' patriotism.

And he didn't even need to bother. The NYT also had the same material released directly by their spies in the CIA back in April.

You're a bit cynical. This could make the TODAY SHOW ....as an example of heavy-handed partisanship by the Republicans and one more example of why the Democrats need to take over the House.

The Democrats - ending the Republican Culture of Corruption by putting an impeached, convicted, and removed corrupt ex-judge as the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee. That sure would make me feel safe.

Staffers don't do this on their own. Whomever they work for should resign immediately.

I think DOJ has everything to do with this. This congressman probably wants to get a jump on his defense.
I do not believe it was one lonely staffer. I also do not believe this staffer would be suspended now, unless something was about break wide open.

and where is the DOJ investigation this? They're busy patting themselves on the back over their tough prosecution of Sandy Berger, the Clintonoid who stole classified documents from the National Archives and destroyed them. Plus, the DOJ is simply overwhelmed right now ignoring the Harry Reid scandal.
All this points to why it is so critical that the Republicans take back the White House in 2008. If Republicans were in control of the White House and the Executive branch, and therefore the Department of Justice, these crimes would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of.... Oh, wait-a-minute....
Nevermind.
To: Jewels1091
So what is the staffer's name? I have heard the names of all these staffers in the Foley prefabbed scandal and never ever are liberal staffers named.
Wonder which congressional office he will transfer to and obtain the same ability to write for and receive other classified intel?
To: Jewels1091
Fox just mentioned it.
