WASHINGTON - The FBI is investigating whether U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon used his influence to secure lobbying and consulting contracts for his daughter, two people familiar with the inquiry said Saturday.

Love the last paragraph "The Weldon investigation comes at a critical time for Republicans who are fighting to maintain a majority in the House of Representatives in a midst of scandals.
On Friday, Republican U.S. Rep. Bob Ney pleaded guilty in the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal, which has touched on federal lawmakers, former aides and members of the Bush administration.
At the same time, an inquiry is under way on Capitol Hill into whether Republican House leaders or their top aides covered up questionable behavior of former Congressman Mark Foley toward teenage males who worked as congressional interns." No mention of the Reid story? Shocking.
Gee, this wouldn't have anything to do with Weldon pressing on re: "Able Danger', now would it? Honestly, it's the FIRST thing that came to my mind...
Democrats can commit rape (Juanita Broderick, Gerry Studds) or negligent homicide (Ted Kennedy) and stay in office.
Republicans do a favor for a friend or family member and end up in jail.
Harry Reid was heard breathing a small sigh of relief.
TT
Weldon has survived to aircraft mechanical malfunctions and now this!? Someone does not want him in Congress!
to = 2
Another thread suggested this is Able Danger related.
Ya think?
The timing smells.
Man, I really think I am going to have to get some type of meds to make it through this onslaught on the GOP leading up to election day. My inner rage is approaching the boiling point.
Say what you guys will about FOX being a tad more liberal lately, if not for them putting perspective and shedding light on all sides of issues, I would have lost it by now.
And so does the WaPo, the AP & our friends at MSNBC for deciding that this is more worthy of their shining investigative light than the Reid story.
A Democrat majority gained by these tactics will last only until the next election. 2008 might end up being a landslide victory for Republicans after the country gets a taste of Speaker Pelosi and company for two years.
No mention of Jefferson and his green popsicles, either.
5.56mm
I am not saying it is payback.
I am just saying the timing is ridiculous. Another blatant attempt by the media to help the RATS attain majority in congress by casting any republican in as bad a light as possible.
Good grief...I guess the FBI is still working for the CLINTOONS!!
Geez....they need to be investigating the entities in the democrat party that are WIRETAPPING THE CONGRESS!!
I posted on an earlier thread that this is old news from
2004. Go to http://www.delcotimes.com/site/news.cfm?
Then go to the story about Weldon. This story came out in 2004 and Weldon was cleared by the ethics comm.
Is this more of the "shadow party" flexing their muscles.
I'll tell you what .. the more these Clinton leftovers probe the repubs - the more inclined I'd be to vote for them.
Weldon's race is tight and this is on purpose to suppress the vote for him .. these people are really disgusting.
Good find!!!
Thanks.
I'm starting to think that Little Georgie Soros might have already purchased the FBI, the CIA and the IRS.
"This is a desperate attempt at trying to create news."
This is crap. There is no way Weldon is a crook.
More lies from the left. If they were as good at governing as they are at lying the US under their leadership would be paradise.
Did Puff Daschell have anything to do with his wife's lobying career???
Sure! If they can't deal with the issue they attack the person.
And what about Harry Reid's kids? I don't see why helping your kids get a good job is considered to be a bad thing (depending on who yu are, that is)!
