She's lucky. (Very few people who are attacked by coyotes get to sue McDonald's Corporation.)

This is what happens when too many people watch "Bambi" and listen to the Sierra Club. Animals have to be constantly reminded of just why they should fear humans.
Of course, this being Connecticut, anyone who shot a coyote would probably be arrested.

Uh-oh, did McD's put a warning label on that coyote like they did those hot cups of coffee to protect innocent consumers? 'Cause I'm thinking this lady's got a nice settlement coming her way! :-)

As I began to retreat, it actually stood up and began to walk toward me, and I began to run back to my car.Sounds to me like it was trying to do some tricks for food. That or even playing.....but then again I wasn't there.

"As I began to retreat, it actually stood up and began to walk toward me" My dogs do this, only because they're forbidden from jumping up on us. So they stand up and walk forward on their hind legs and play the "can I lick someone's belly without touching them with my paws" game.
I wonder if it's leftover from some attack instinct.

I'd be worried about rabies as well. For the thing to advance on humans instead of retreat raises the ante for rabies. That's the real pity that the animal wasn't shot. They could have then tested the brain for rabies. Now they won't know.

"it was essentially being trained not to be afraid."
No, it was being trained that people=food source. If coyotes are spotted around here, they are shot whenever possible.
