PAKISTANI President Pervez Musharraf today called for a ban on the "defamation of Islam" in a speech to the UN General Assembly in which he took a veiled swipe at Pope Benedict XVI for his remarks linking the Muslim faith to violence.

"We also need to bridge, through dialogue and understanding, the growing divide between the Islamic and Western worlds," General Musharraf told the 192-member assembly.

"It is imperative to end racial and religious discrimination against Muslims and to prohibit the defamation of Islam."

In an indirect reference to Pope Benedict XVI, he said, "It is most disappointing to see personalities of high standing oblivious of Muslim sensitivities at these critical moments".

"It is imperative to end racial and religious discrimination against muslims and to prohibit the defamation of islam."

That one sentence is all you need to know. This is a one-way street for muslims. It should be forbidden to defame islam but ok for islam to defame all others. Musharraf is as bad as the rest of islam's so-called leaders wallowing in the 7th century. I despise them.

Let's start with a ban on the killing and persecution of Christians by Muslims.

Once the thorny matter of death is resolved then the UN could move on to hurt feelings.

Okay. At the same time defamation of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hindusim, Jainism, Paganism, Confucianism, Taoism, and whatever other forms of religion is banned.

Don't forget Scientology and Pastafarianism.

I've posted this before but I think it can't be stated more clearly than ole Winnie did ....

Winston Churchill On Islam
A quote from an 1899 book by Winston Churchill, "The River War", in which he describes Muslims he apparently observed during Kitchener's campaign in the Sudan

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

"It is imperative to end racial and religious discrimination against Muslims and to prohibit the defamation of Islam."

Islam is religious discrimination.

Perhaps the "diplomat" should ask why is a 600 year old quote stating islam is a bloody and violent religion accurate today?

If anthing they just proved Islam has never progressed outside the desert mentality.

Here's my reply, and it trumps ANYTHING the UN can come up with:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Once I took a blood oath, and it still applies to me:

"I, Alas Babylon!, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

So don't expect me or my military bro's to sit idly by while some UN weenie tries to trash the Constitution!

Jesus said that we all fall short of perfection, and this was reason for lowering the priority of the Hebrew Law as Christ was the fulfillment of that law. The Jews at that time had become to rapped up into Law that the mission of the church was lost to legalism rather than serving the people. Islam can't be any different, today. Just an observation.
