CNN Day of Barf: Dem hack Tim Roemer grandstands on the graves of 2,986 Americans(Barf Alert)
CNN | September 11, 2006 | CNN

Posted on 09/11/2006 3:16:31 PM PDT by StAnDeliver

Of all the 9/11 anniversary coverage this morning, FNC was absolutely the best, letting the unadulterated tape tell the story of that savage September day.

Of course, there were others, and as you might have guessed in advance, CNN's was easily the worst. Most notably, not once was Flight 175's actual impact into the South Tower ever shown.

But one particularly ugly moment immediately floated to the top of the CNN bowl. Former Dem Congressman (he didn't last long) and former 'd-list' DLC hack Tim Roemer was given 5 minutes by CNN to make a free, but utterly tasteless & depraved DNCC commerical for the upcoming mid-terms, smack dab in the middle of CNN's 'remembrance' this morning:

Miles O'Brien: "Tim [Roemer] later became a member of the 9/11 Commission. Good to have you back."

Roemer: "Nice to see you, Miles."

O'Brien: "What are your recollections of that morning?"

Roemer: "First of all, just like so many people, I remember the crispness of the air in your lungs, the beauty of the sky, the blueness of the sky [barf barf barf], and then the surprise, I was actually watching CNN [barf] that morning when that first plane went in. I was in my office. We evacuated the office about an hour and a half later. I told my staff to go home, and the rest of the day seems like it was in slow motion, carved into my heart and my brain. I remember the confusion that day, the chaos, my cell phone did not work. We tried to get the Intelligence Committee to meet [*barf. Shades of Lurch's 40-minute "nobody could think" between the South Tower crash and the Pentagon hit]. I remember stopping by a church on Capitol Hill, St. Joseph, and try to look for inspiration and hope. [barf. The ghastly spectre of the phoniest 2006 DNCC talking point coming from someone who never previously invoked such phony piety]..."

O'Brien: "At any point during this day were you just in a very base way afraid?"

Roemer: "There was there were many times, Miles, that you were afraid. [barf. Roemer inexplicably switches to the second person in reference to himself] You were worried, especially when I was standing in front of the Pentagon that night...Thinking about if they could hit our Pentagon, what else could they do?...We have a lot of work to do. [barf. As Roemer realizes he's running out of airtime, you can see him switching gears into attack mode at this point] We have 12 Ds, 5 Fs and 2 incompletes as grades from the 9/11 Commission. We see Bin Laden and Zawahiri releasing a tape over the weekend. They want new events to attack America. We're not as safe as we should be..."

O'Brien: "One of the things you're talking about today is a sense of bipartisanship, which is sort of reflected in the 9/11 Commission report. [barf. Watch the rest of the Path to 9/11 tonight, Miles] This discussion about how to make us safer, how does it get removed from the partisan world? Can it be?"

Roemer: "I think the American people realize that there are going to be fights, there are going to be disagreements, times when the Republican and Democratic parties may have different versions of how to go forward. But the 9/11 Commission book [barf. He actually picks up waves an actual copy of the 9/11 Commission Report] says with five Democrats, five Republicans on foreign policy, on brand new ideas, here is what we can do to better protect our country, reorganize our government in new ways against this Jihadist threat. Only half of the recommendations have been passed five years later. We see difficulties in Afghanistan, record levels of opium production. We have Bin Laden and Zawahiri releasing tapes faster than the rock group U2. [barf 3. Easily the Most Tasteless Talking Point Of The Week] We can, I think, Miles, have the same kind of unity that we had, even though we may disagree on some of the ways to go forward, we can still have some kind of bipartisanship going forward in Congress in the weeks ahead to pass the remaining reforms, yet, we haven't seen that happen yet..."

* Larry King: "Where were you on 9/11?"

John Kerry: "I was in the Capitol. We'd just had a meeting -- we'd just come into a leadership meeting in Tom Daschle's office, looking out at the Capitol. And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building [9:03 a.m.]. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon [9:43 a.m.]. And then word came from the White House, they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate, and so we immediately began the evacuation."

Moran did something similar today. These stories are all over the place.

Another thing that deserves the barf alert is what the History Channel has on right now (5:25 CST). Very slanted. One sideD, cut off when the opposite side is told, heard about five minutes of the 9/11 Commission, trying to make Dr. Condi look bad, making Richard Clarke look like a hero. Gotta go clean up.

I remember Kerry saying that he sat with his jaw on the table for 40 minutes(the time in between the two, WTC impacts). And then he had the gall to criticize Bush for not running from the kindergarten class(and scaring the kids) as soon as he got the word.

Get ready for a huge media outcry once the number of fallen heros hits 3,000. They'll be pushing that like gold.

AntiSemite and AntiAmerican Ted Turner, June 18, 2002:
Turner: 'So who are the terrorists?
I would make a case that both sides are involved in terrorism.

Initially I thought to complain about being removed from Extended News (I have -- rarely -- posted commentary on other verbatim transcripts utilizing both Front Page and Extended News before and not had them summarily removed); however, Roemer is such a scumbag that it is simply not worth the effort to broach the issue.
