Democrats have big plans if they take over in Congress
Lexington Herald Leader ^ | Sept. 2, 2006 | Margaret Talev

If Democrats win one or both houses of Congress in November's elections, as polls suggest is increasingly likely, President Bush's Washington will change dramatically.

Democrats will press to get out of Iraq. They'll mount investigations into the Bush administration's record that could rival those of Presidents Nixon in Watergate and Clinton in the Monica Lewinsky affair. They'll push a boatload of social-welfare legislation, such as raising the minimum wage, that reflects their pent-up priorities, while blocking the Republican agenda on social issues such as gay marriage, abortion and religion.

Those are some of the top plans that Democrats would pursue if they won power, according to interviews with Democratic lawmakers, strategists, staff aides and lobbyists. The tone and temper of the Democrats were reflected well by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the ranking Democrat on the House Government Reform Committee, in a conference call in late August. He'll become the panel's chairman if Democrats take the House.

This should motivate all Republicans, conservatives and sensible independents/moderates, to get out and vote for the Republican candidates, to keep the Dems from taking power.

If the RATs ever regain power in this country again, they will effectively eliminate all possible threats to their power through legal means. The nation, overnight, will become the socialist clone they desire and, eventually, the tyranny we fear.

If the GOP loses in November it will have no one to blame but itself. The party abandoned the principles laid out in the "Contract with America" long ago.

Name two of their big plans that don't include impeaching the President.

It may really be getting on towards time to split the country up. Any ideas as to how that might could be done? I mean, at this juncture, having the dems win a major election would be pretty much like handing the keys to the assylum straight over to the lunatics, I don't see how you could do it.

So we'll deal with the Dems for two years, laugh at their mistakes and outrageousness, and bask in the glory of a massive win in 2008 after Americans see the huge mistake they made.

Last time the Dems took over, it took us 40 years to regain the House and don't kid yourself, once they take power, they are not going to allow themselves to lose it.

Not to mention, that during those two years, if they make us withdraw from Iraq, they are going to start another terrorist resurgence, as Carter did, during his 4 years, by allowing the Ayatollah to take over Iran. We are still paying for that.

Hate to say it but if the DUrats take over, this country is in deep crap. The Muzzies will be emboldened beyond all measure. The country will get bogged down by investigations worse than the Scooter Libby/Wilson/Plame fiasco. Keep that in mind. Remember what Cliton did to our intelligence and defense systems. We cannot afford it. EVER.

and the 'islamo-fascists' have big plans for the dems/libs...;) I even saw a few posts on DU today (after the call to convert) that were seriously questioning some of what they usually mock...

Thats the ticket. Give up power.

Getting it back will be sooooo easy. Especially with the news dominated by committees investigating Bush and the 'Republican Culture of Corruption'.

How novae can you get.

If Henry Waxman wants to investigate government corruption and abuse during the present administration, I'm sure he'll find it a lot more interesting to look into government murder and treason during the reign of B. J. Clinton. That is, if Waxman's priotories were motivated by morality and decency, rather than political viciousness.

Let's hope that this Democrat dream doesn't become the nation's real nightmare.
