She and boyfriend Wes Robinson are expecting their first child in January, publicist Aly Goodwin Gregg said Thursday.

It might sound judgmental, but it's a shame to see the words "and boyfriend" rather than "and husband". The best way to ensure you and your children stay out of poverty is to (1) finish school before getting married, and (2) get married before having children.

life is not picture perfect. it never has been and it never will be.

Jessica has had a rough time. dont judge her. wish her the best and say a prayer for her.

....could not agree with you more....!! what's up with all these celebrity bastards (can we even use that age-old word any more....???) that we see more and more of....? is there no shame any longer....? no, you are not being judgmental; in my generation, folks who became preggers before marriage or who had babies out of wedlock were not in the least admired or looked up to as some sort of role models... it was shameful, really.....the statistics in this country today for this sort of thing are staggeringly awful - if I remember the national figures correctly, nationwide, some 33 per cent of all babies born to white females today are born out of wedlock; the corresponding figures for Latinos and blacks are 42 per cent and 70-plus percent, respectively.... shameful....

Oh, maddoggit...I didn't see that part. I just assumed she was married. I hope they get married and don't pull that "it's just a piece of paper" crap. If it's just a piece of paper, why not get it done instead of treating it as if it was plutonium?

Your right under normal circumstances. However, she is a millionaire now. But on the moral side, I hope she marries the guy.

Yes, but... Correlation doesn't always equal causation. I suspect that it's not marriage per se that causes this. I do suspect is that people who act responsibly, exercise a little care, have stable family relationships, plan things (like children) are also more likely (probably much more likely) to educate themselves, develop saleable skills, and have a good job/career to provide for their children.

It's two different personality types. Not simply the fact of a marriage ceremony. The marriage is most often the result of the same responsible personality that leads to the career, the house, the college education for the kids.

As Neal Boortz sagely points out: "Rich people keep doing the things that make them rich, and poor people will always keep doing the things that make them poor."
