McKinney has only herself to blame
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | 8/20/06 | Jim Costelloe

Oh, for crying out loud!

Cynthia McKinney is at it again. Blaming everyone and everything for her ills other than herself. This time, she is on attack regarding her recent runoff loss to Hank Johnson.

During a recent speech in front of the National Dialogue and Revival for Social Justice in the Black Church, she blamed her loss on the media, electronic voting machines, Republicans and Georgia's requirement that the winner of an election must receive at least 50 percent of the vote.

Is that it, Cynthia? What about days with the letter "y" in them or months that have at least 28 days? Aliens, maybe? Global warming? When I was 6 years old, I used to blame everything on my invisible friend, Charley. I just spoke with him, and he says it is OK if you want to shift the blame to him instead. At least that might sound more credible.

Maybe the reason Cynthia lost the election was due to her inability to deal with reality. Most voters want the elected officials who represent their concerns to actually address and solve those concerns, not to make excuse after excuse. And if they are unable to actually solve problems, then voters at least hope they blend into the woodwork and not embarrass their constituents.

Cynthia, on the other hand, pounds the dais trying to drum up support in finding out who killed Tupac — who resided in California and was killed in Nevada — and blaming Capitol security for their failure to recognize her.

The fact that she assigns blame to the media for her loss shows just how ridiculously out of touch she is. She is a Democrat blaming the same "liberal media" that the Republicans have been crying about for years.

"They [the media] are there to protect the powers that be ... and anyone who becomes a threat in any kind of way will become an enemy," she said.

The media? There to protect the powers that be? Sounds like a page right out of the Neal Boortz handbook.

Then she turns around and blames Republicans for voting on Democratic ballots just to ensure her loss. Yeah — that's it. After the last year and her track record of denial, Republicans were champing at the bit to get her back on the ballot. It would have meant their best chance to reclaim her congressional seat. They could have put Steve Spurrier on the ballot and he would have won in a landslide with her as the opposition.

Since she lost her bid for re-election to Johnson, she has offered up more excuses then Floyd Landis, Barry Bonds and Justin Gatlin combined. At least their excuses were original. Naturally produced synthetic testosterone, muscle growing flaxseed oil and a vengeful massage therapist show imagination. Cynthia give us voting machines and Republicans. Boring! Media? Been there, done that.

It is time for Cynthia to face the facts. There was no conspiracy against her. She lost the election because she lost touch with the voters, not because Georgia uses electronic voting machines. They were fed up with her failure to work the issues instead of the media. They were fed up with her refusal to accept blame and her paranoia. And they were fed up with her finger pointing. She embarrassed her district and turned Georgia into a political punchline.

Cynthia lost because she was so concerned with being "real" that she forgot to do the job she was getting paid to do.

She should quit railing against any and all things and accept responsibility. She still has a lot of time left to truly be the "black political paramedic" that she now claims to be. But until she takes some personal inventory, she is more Jack Kevorkian than Florence Nightingale

And any Georgian knows, that's saying a lot!

Just a lead-in to the same crap we'll hear when the Dems lose in November.

Nobody to blame but everyone but themselves.

She lost because her constituents just got fed up with her BS. In order to lose like Cindy did, you have to be waaaay out in left field.

Something more subtle happened than the writer realizes. McKinney embarrassed her constituents. They resented it and responded accordingly.

Maybe the reason Cynthia lost the election was due to her inability to deal with reality. Most voters want the elected officials who represent their concerns to actually address and solve those concerns, not to make excuse after excuse.

How does this explain how she ever got elected to anything in the first place? She was voted out of office, and then back in, and then out... blame the voters, not the nutjob candidate.

This woman is too dumb to realize she's an embarrassment to the people she represents. She does not deserve the office to which she was elected. She believes she's entitled to to go D.C. and be treated like a queen.

Including most of the people who DIDN'T know that last time they elected her, and obviously THEY are completely F'ing NUTS. Cynthia's so completely F'ing NUTS that even people who are completely F'ing NUTS can see that she's completely F'ing NUTS!

If it comes up, I'd bet a cup of coffee that somebody might have to explain to her who Spurrier is.

Not true. We're not crying about it. We're just choosing not to beleive it when they spew it.

I want to see her barricade herself in her lost congressional office next session. That would be entertaining.

She acts like a child. Why would anyone elect a child to public office? Those who elected her to begin with should hang their heads in shame.
