Democrats agreed to shake up tradition Saturday by wedging Nevada between Iowa's leadoff caucuses and the New Hampshire primary in the 2008 presidential nominating calendar and adding South Carolina soon afterward.

The addition of Nevada's caucuses and the South Carolina primary to a presidential calendar long dominated by Iowa and New Hampshire is intended to give a greater voice to Hispanics and blacks-minorities critical to Democrats' success.

Wonder if Reid will run, since there's a primary in his home state?

Moving the calendar ahead, just what the Dems need.

By election time the public will be sick and tired of hearing of the Dem candidate, whoever it may be.

Nothing like a old tired candidate promoting old tired issues.

But............they didn't ask me.

"Wonder if Reid will run, since there's a primary in his home state?"

Hum, he might be very unpopular by that point in time.

Dems Vow Sanctions Against Candidates Who Thwart New Calender

The Democratic National Committee moved to penalize 2008 presidential candidates who defied a new calendar designed to boost the Party’s image. On the new calendar, every day is a holiday.

“We want people to associate the Democratic Party with good times,” said Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. “What could be better than a continuous holiday? Every day will be a day off of work. People get to spend more time with their families. It’ll be great.”
Under the plan, every day would be a secular holiday of some sort. “There are a lot of great presidents birthdays—Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson—we could be celebrating,” said Dean. “And there have been many other great suggestions.” The preliminary list is believed to include “Women’s Rights Day,” “Gay Pride Day,” and “Free Lunch Day.”

“My favorite is ‘Free Lunch Day,’” said Dean. “On that day the law would require that all lunches be free. You get the day off AND a free lunch. The Republicans can’t beat that.”

“If everyone has a holiday, who is going to serve the free lunches?” asked Republican National Chairman Ken Mehlman. “The Democrats plan is pure ‘feel good’ nonsense. They must think voters are complete idiots.”

Dean said Mehlman’s remarks revealed the Republicans lack of vision. “Some people will be working on the holidays, but they will get paid ‘time-and-a-half’ because it’s a holiday,” Dean boasted. “And since everyday is a holiday, this amounts to an ‘across-the-board’ 50% pay raise for every worker.”

Although the new calendar idea has received scant mention in the media, a Zogby poll had 72% of respondents liking the idea. “It’d be great,” said Johnny Loll, a refinery worker from New Jersey. “I could sleep-in, watch TV and get a raise. Finally, someone’s come up with a plan I can understand. I can’t wait for election day.”

This isn't vote pandering; it's vote dilution to protect the Witch. The problem with Iowa and N.H. is their DemonRat electorates are dominated by over-educated white Marxists who'll push every DemonRat candidate, including the Witch, to take their positions or be destroyed, as they've tried to do to Joe Lieberman. To maintain her pretense of moderation the Witch desperately needs some other states, preferably with a lot of minorities who'll mindlessly vote for any Clinton, to dilute the Marxist influence of Iowa and N.H.; thus, the addition of the other states.

The DNC is expected to add Nevada and South Carolina to the early presidential voting states. The change is designed to address a nagging problem for Democrats: How to give a greater voice in selecting a presidential nominee to minorities who are among the party's most loyal supporters.(AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast)

Ha, ha, ha! I'm laughing! So much for the NAACP's much bally-hooed boycott of South Carolina over the Confederate flag. The Democrats REWARD South Carolina with the most influential placing to select the Presidential nominee! LOL!

Tired certainly is the best word to describe the Dems.

Am I just being partisan here, or do they have NOTHING to offer? If this is the fruit of Dean's tenure, what has he accomplished, really?

FWIW, I don't think so. They're trying to make sure that the moonbats don't pick the next nominee. I guess Hillie figures she's not going to be able to tack to the left enough to win the primary without permanently alienating general election voters.

Note to Hillie: Ain't gonna help.
