Brian Williams Refuses to Apologize for Comparing Army Rangers and Seals to Terrorists

Brian Williams said in response to a question about muslims willing to die to kill us that we have "guys on our side like that too. They are called army rangers and navy seals." He claims he only meant that we have people willing to die too. And he says he hopes that clears it up. Not quite! Mr. Williams.

First no one has ever doubted Americans are willing to make any sacrifice for our country. Has he heard of D-Day or Iwo Jima or the Revolutionary War or just read today's papers for that matter. And its not just uniformed people how about the citizens on Flt 93 that gave up their lives trying to stop that plane from its intended target? Mr. Williams we are well aware our side has heros.

When you say we have guys like that "too", willing to "take" their lives you have compared us to them in the most direct way. As much as you praise our guys you equally praise theirs by saying "too". Your praise merely serves to sugarcoat the horrendous comparison. Some say you just misspoke. And parsing through your interview lets just say kindly that just about everything you said less than lucid. However you have in the past compared our founding fathers to terrorists and again last week you say "we have guys like that too".

Its pretty simple Mr. Williams either condemn their tactics or leave standing your sugarcoated praise of their bravery.

As for Brian Williams, I think that picture of the GI and the coffee cup with the caption "How about rooting for OUR side for a change, you liberal moron!?!?" says it all!

Comparing American patriots willing to fight and die for their country and Islamic terrorists who intentionally target innocent civilians in hopes of hanging out with virgins in the afterlife is vile beyond description. Williams is a moral relativist piece of excrement.

He did the same thing right after 9-11. He has some queer need to find some sort of moral equivilence between us and them.

Real easy Mr Williams to see the difference. Our guys fight them that shoot back. Terrorirists try to avoid those guys and attack the defenseless and the weak

The false moral equivalence is one of the mainstays of liberal thought. Of couse a moral leper like Brian Williams would say such a thing.

The shame is that we allow him to remain in his job.

I'm not sure he directly made the comparison but stated his point rather unartful. News Readers should not deviate from prepared completely vetted scripts.

He may not have made himself very clear, but it's obvious from context that he was NOT implying some sort of moral equivalence between terrorists and American military & emergency workers. This is a molehill.

Brian Williams is about as dumb as a person can become. But he is not dumber then the executives at NBC that leave this moron to run loose. Get rid of him. He belongs in the black hole of obscurity with the rest of the Democrat liberal, scum and vermin of humanity.

Cutting off the end of his statement made it appear that he was saying something different from what he actually said. What he said was awkward but not worse than that.

Exactly...Many Americans are willing to "give" their life in defense of our freedoms but it is the terrorist who is willing to "take" his life for their fanatical beliefs.

Williams is not willing to take responsibility for his statement.

Our Declaration of Independence separates us from terrorists.

We believe man, in fact all mankind, has an expectation, a right, to life. We believe this is an “unalienable right,” in fact a sacred right not granted by man but by a higher power, our Creator and incapable of repudiation. The right to life cannot be taken by another man.

The terrorists don’t believe we, or any man, apparently, has an expectation to life. The terrorist have shown that they can commit, intend to commit and are committed to intentional, indiscriminate killing of innocent strangers.

What greater disparity could there be in the beliefs between the terrorists and ourselves?

Not sure where the news media or Mr. Williams fit in....

Brian Williams has yet to explain why his first thought to the question was to equate US soldiers to terrorists. I don't understand why he would make that kind of comparison unless he thinks there is a moral equivalency.
