Lamont campaign criticizes Lieberman for comments on terror plot

(Hartford-AP, Aug. 11, 2006 Updated 9:25 PM) _ The war of words continues between the campaigns of Senator Joe Lieberman and challenger Ned Lamont.

Lamont criticized Lieberman today for saying Lamont's plan to withdraw troops from Iraq would give a victory to the terrorists involved in the plot to blow up planes bound from Britain to the U.S.

Lieberman lost this week's Democratic primary to Lamont but is now waging an independent campaign. His comments about Lamont came yesterday at a stop in Waterbury, and he also accused Lamont of not fully understanding the threat to national security.

Lamont spokesman Liz Dupont-Diehl says that while Lieberman accuses people who challenge the Bush administration of being weak on security, Lieberman's support of President Bush's foreign policies has made America and the Middle East less safe.

Lamont told The New York Times that Lieberman sounded a lot like Vice President Dick Cheney. He says Cheney and Lieberman falsely believe that the Iraq war has much to do with the September 11th attacks.

Lieberman spokesman Dan Gerstein says Lamont continues to distort the senator's record.

He says Lieberman has been very critical of much of Bush's foreign policy. He also says Lieberman is criticizing Lamont for his views on homeland security, not all people who challenge the president's policies.

Of course, in typical rat fashion, they offer NO explaination why that is.

Looks like Lamont is going to self-destruct faster than I thought. I agree with the anti-war fools--this guy should be heard loud and clear, as often as possible.

Latest Lib Talking Point. They say this all over and of course NONE of our Junk Media types do anything but mindlessly repeat it. Gee could SOMEONE ask even ONE of the Democrat stooges how it has made us "less safe"? Comparing the last 5 years post 9-11 with the 5 years leading UP to 9-11 we see vastly more success at protecting the USA under Bush then with Clinton.

We have arrested or killed FAR more terrorists, disrupted or prevent far more attacks and suffered far fewer successful attacks under Bush then we did under Clinton. Based on a straight up analysis of the Data the Democrats are prove liars.

This Dhim vs Dhim race is going to be a mudslinging campaign of epic proportions. I realize that the Republican is currently in the single digits, but he shouldn't be counted out yet. He may be the last man standing.

He doesn't stand a chance. I am one of probably 3 people in the state of CT who actually know his name.

No no no. You don't understand. Terrorists are like naughty children. You just ignore them until they say they are sorry.

Lamont thinks that battling terrorists makes us 'unsafe' ... and that sitting idly by while the terrorists hatch plots and build up their weapon supply makes us more "safe."

Well, it worked after the 1993 WTC attack. Oh, wait..........

"has made America and the Middle East less safe"

This is the 21st century battle cry of the anti war cowards. Always seems to me to be a last ditch attempt to justify the cowards reasons to avoid conflict/combat with the terrorists in the middle east.

Used extensively to denounce our actions in Iraq and will also be used in any lead up to our next war in the middle east.

Since the Demonrats have been making the kind of sounds I've only heard at Gram and Pap's farm when they got that new elastricator, I'd say they may now realize that at the fork in the road, they picked the wrong one.

Already getting cozy with the Traitor Times!

The Terrorist Tip Sheet endorsed Lamont in the primary and will pull out the stops to elect him. Notice that the Lieberman camp's comments sound weak and defensive.

Lamont's campaign "strategy" in an nutshell. Say over and over again that Lieberman = Bush, and count on the Drive Bys to do the rest.
