As the Israeli people waited Thursday for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to implement his cabinet's decision to widen the ground offensive in Lebanon, Britain found itself under siege. British security officials announced that the entire country was on a red alert for a terror attack. The night before, British security forces foiled a terrorist conspiracy to explode some ten US bound passenger jets.
As London's deputy police commissioner Paul Stephenson told reporters, ''This was intended to be mass murder on an unimaginable scale." By Thursday morning security forces had arrested some 21 suspects. All are British citizens. All are Muslims.
It is not a stretch of the imagination to assume that these British Muslims are jihadists. Indeed, it can probably be assumed that like their predecessors last July 7, they made their decision to commit an unspeakable atrocity against their countrymen to advance Islam's takeover of Britain.
The path of jihad is the path of terror. Using terror, the jihadists believe that they can destroy the confidence of citizens of free societies and so coerce them to bend to their will.

She does understand what is going on. This is as much a critical stand for freedom, tolerance and human rights as was the battle against Hitler and the Nazis.

To measure the sucsess of a terror attack in bodycount is a mistake. There arent 50million islamo-facists liberated from anything Iraq is out of control because Bush faltered
and failed to address the two countries introducing the
terrorists into Iraq.
I'm not saying we should do such a beastly thing, I'm just curious if it would work.
It would seem that the answer to this question is found in the increased cultural weakness of the two states leading the war against radical Islam: the US and Britain. In both countries, for the past two years the forces of leftist radicalism and appeasement have been on the rise. Both countries' leaders are hated by ever larger swathes of their countrymen for their stand on the war against jihad...
The Muslims who have been "liberated" are under attack by more radical Muslims (which is the habitual pattern in the Islamic world), while the Dems scream for us to run away and let them kill each other; the carnage of various bombings may not have been Hiroshima size, but it's been steady and demoralizing; and while we have stopped many attacks, they keep planning more. I don't think they're winning - yet. But if the Dems and in fact the worldwide left manages to get Bush and Blair to back down, or replaces them in the next elections with appeasers, I would say jihad is going to count some significant victories.
And as she says, what happens in Lebanon and the response of Israel is vitally important, because they are sort of the lab where jihad is trying out its techniques and guaging responses.
At some point, the response of the part of our population that does not want to be attacked, destroyed or enslaved will come into play, and we will probably drive Islam back finally at that time. I don't think they're going to win ultimately, but we've got to keep on fighting.

There is one point I have to disagree, about the defeat of Sen Joe Leiberman in the Tuesday primary, the good news is that he is going to run as an independent. What have happened in the last day is two things, the USA has gone conservitive once again and that Sen Joe has been handed an indirect victory because people in CT know where he stands on terrorism.

My take on this article is that we are in the darkest time before start of dawn. We all have to all hang in there during the worse of the times.
This applies to all of western culture not just Israel.
It is a very good article, I wonder how many what percent of the Left in America are in fact Jewish.
does anyone here have numbers on the makeup of the left in the US with those figures? I know it is a well known fact the percent of the left that are black.
