I wouldn't mind if you are right, but she's repeatedly said she isn't running.

I suspect we are looking at our next president.Threads like these are eerily reminiscent of the flame wars back in '99 over who should be the Republican nominee.
Alot of folks (including the esteemed owner of this site) weren't too wild about Bush at the time.

Great tag-line!
I'd love to have that on a t-shirt or bumper sticker.

Bush and co should have demanded to resignation of every Clinton appointee from every department of government in Jan 2001
Clinton took steps at the very end of his disastrous eight years to ensure that couldn't happen. I'm sure President Bush would have liked nothing better if he'd been able to start with a clean slate.

Most of the statements I've heard/read fromher on the matter run along the lines of: "I have no intention of seeking the nomination...".
That little bit of ambiguity leaves her with some wiggle room. i.e. 'Although I might accept it if it were offered'.
If she truly does not wish to seek the office, she will have to quote William Tecumseh Sherman:
If nominated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve.

I agree with your post at #100 except for one thing. Condi and Rummy are only playing a good cop bad cop game. They have no conflict.

Your learning...That big ol' fancy word "transformation" has been thrown around a lot by/in FedGov...It disguises any real changes...

Doh. I forgot Haig. And I didn't even mention a bunch that have more solid credentials but unremarkable nonetheless.
Not to over simplify here, but some people just don't get governmental "Good cop, bad cop."
I do know that George Schultz has a tiger tattooed on his backside. That ought to qualify me for some kind of triva prize. ; ).

I would honestly like to see some good in what Goss did. Would you or some other poster be kind enough to enumerate his accomplishments? I am currently under the impression that he is/was a partisan hack, but am willing to be convinced otherwise.
Thanks
