Dump Condi: Foreign policy conservatives charge State Dept. has hijacked Bush agenda
Insight Magazine ^ | July 26th | Daniel

Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administration’s national security and foreign policy agenda.

The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

"The president has yet to understand that people make policy and not the other way around," a senior national security policy analyst said. "Unlike [former Secretary of State Colin] Powell, Condi is loyal to the president. She is just incompetent on most foreign policy issues."

This whole posting was nothing more than a smear attack and an attempt by a bunch of trolls to stir up trouble. At least we know who they are now.

Condi & Bush & the rest of the bunch are doing the best anyone could expect in a world full of denial about radical Islamo-fascism and a Western Civilization blind to the danger of a radical Islamo-fascist alliance with China & Russia. The aim of the enemies of freedom is to reduce the power and influence of the United States in the world.

I would say that Condi has more talent & ability in her little pinky finger than all of her attackers on this thread have put together.

These guys all hire on folks like Mr. Burns during their elections. Frequently ~ very frequently in fact ~ don't mean nothin'.

Sounds like Burns has moved around a bit more than most career State department types though.

Way back when (1992?) I remember sitting in a Chinese restaurant out in Tysons Corners and in comes Warren Christopher and one of "Jugears" Perot's top advisors, and they sat down to dinner together. A very large white woman I didn't immediately recognize sat down with them. I believe she must have been Madelein Albright carrying some spare pounds at the time.

So, you might ask, what's Perot's guy got to do with this? And, you would be right to ask that.

State has historically been very much in favor of OIL, and in maintenance of the governing system the winning allies imposed on the Middle East at the end of WWI.

Are you against Oil perhaps? Most likely you've not, and that would put you in the same boat Newt Gingrich is now finding himself. Although he favors extending democratic forms throughout the world, I've noticed that he's quite hesitant to do that when it would be simpler to protect OIL by installing another nasty dictator with a praetorian guard.

Anyone who calls for or agrees with the creation of a terror-state on the border with Israel is doing the bidding of terrorist, whether they realize it or not.

And Condi Rice has called for it. And YOU support her... so you support the creation of HAMAStan.

Nice work, Jew-killing terrorist lover.

On good (or bad) turn deserves another, so...

Actually, you posted the most idiotic post of the day.

For only an idiot supports anyone calling for the creation of a terrorist state right on the border with Israel. Which makes both you and Rice... either idiots or terrorist supporters.

(and I'd hope that a conservative wouldn't actually be an pro-Arab, kill-Jews terror lover... so you must be an idiot as the alternative is worse.)

You got that right!

They are infested with people Clinton installed and then pulled strings to make them virtually "extermination-proof".....and the media band played on.

This is not like an Alfred Hitchcock mystery....it's very shallow and yet a lot of people don't catch on.

Thank you NEA for advancing ignorance to new heights/depths (or as they would allow: "nu hitz").

If evolution exists, it is running in the opposite direction from what Darwin's theory predicted. It's not "survival of the fittest". It has become "survival of who can throw the biggest fit". You don't even have to go that far to observe the "dumbing down" that is happening. Examples abound.

Posts like yours give credence to those that claim the US is Israel's puppet. If it wasn't for this administration, Israel would be fighting Iran and Syria plus Hezzbolla. Give it a rest.

Exactly right. So why aren't you criticizing Rice?

That's HER logic.

"Arabs attack over an international border (that's the give) and they get land (that's the take)."

It seems that you hate anyone who espouses that train of thought... but support Rice when her actions work toward that goal.

Are you sure you aren't a Democrat?

"Political correctness is a terrible disease. We should devote more research toward looking for a cure."

Hey, you and I finally agree on something.

I'm not going to join the "whack Condi" crowd. I'm often critical of the prez, but I think we are playing the diplomatic game pretty well. The administration is at least letting the Israeli's kick a little booty. They haven't spouted the idiocies of Kofi Annan, Bill Clinton, and Howard Dean.

Hahahaha!

Wow, spoken just like the Daily Kos. Why don't you come clean and admit that you don't think Israel, or Jews for that matter, should exist.

For that's what HAMAS wants... and Rice likes the idea of HAMAStan on Israel's border.

And you like Rice. Ergo, you like HAMAS's talking points.

"Secretary Rice is an academic specialist on Russia and world affairs. After her earned Doctorate (and most of the world has no idea how hard even a Bachelor's is to attain), she attained the position of the Chancellor of a University; authored two academic books..."

Considering just how left-wing, socialist, pro-terror, and anti-Israel our universities are nowadays... that's NOT a glowing endorsement.

It's more like a lump of radioactive waste around her neck, marking her as a pariah - DO NOT TOUCH.

Conservatives suffer through college and get into the corporate world ASAP. Liberals wallow in the academic muck.

Another dopey post from you.

Listen, bub, your simplistic view of the Middle East makes me wonder if you're still in high school.

Ariel Sharon supported the creation of a Palestinian state. He realized it was the only way to demonstrate Israel's sincerity.

It's sad to think you know better than Sharon, but you think you do.

Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed...

If this is true, then please, keep being incompetent and reversing admin. policy. Time frame? Until the Israelis kill hezbollah, and hamas (lower case on purpose), as a functioning entity. Then let's (the administration) be more incompetent and literally take out ferret face (boy Assad), and the entire Persian (Iran for those in PBC and Rio Linde) government (i.e. the mullahs and Ahadminanutjob).

After that, the ronery, dog eating, chia pet, Kimmy Il. That will cure his cognac, porno, caviar addictions.

hey gogogodzilla......been reading all your posts..and have to say if YOU went to college, it sure doesn't show. Your arguments are inane and smack of emotional reasoning with little substance but demonstrative tantrum throwing. So you think Condi who was Provost at Standford University, one of the highest institutions in the world...and home of the Hoover Institute...a conservative think tank.....is unqualified.....well, I see that yes, education seems to be wasted on you......not everyone wants to go into the corporate world....damn, that is such a intolerant, narrow minded view of the world.....Liberals love to stereotype us by pointing to people like YOU

Excellent analysis, Chris. I agree with almost everything you wrote except your statement that Cheney & Rumsfeld aren't too pleased with Condi right now. Cheney & Rumsfeld have a lot of input into our foreign policy decisions, especially Cheney, and they have been fully involved in our ME policy through their dialog with Bush and Condi. The President is ultimately making the policy decisions here and I think Cheney & Rumsfeld are satisfied with those decisions.

But you're so right that this war between Israel and Hezbollah is all about Iran. It certainly looks like Iran wants to have a low-intensity military confrontation with the West, at least for another year or so. When the West is finally prepared to move the confrontation to high-intensity and bomb Iran's nuclear facilities, then certain groups in Iran will probably ditch the fun-sized psycho and make a deal to avoid airstrikes.

If it wasn't for this administration, Israel would be fighting Iran and Syria plus Hezzbolla.

-------

And that's a bad thing?

The Middle East has needed a major shake-up since the 1960's. And if it weren't for the superpowers of the time consistantly putting the brakes on any conflict, there wouldn't even BE a terror problem today.

I mean, really, can you imagine if someone had interfered in WWII and told America that we had to stop the attacks on Japan and Germany... and had the Allies and Axis powers settle for a cease-fire?

There'd have been a new war within a few years. And if that one had been stopped... the hatred would have just grown.

The only way to settle the Middle East is to let them fight it out until there is a complete winner. And yes, we should pick a side and support it wholeheartedly.

All the crud about being impartial is bunk. EVERYONE takes sides on nearly everything.

IE - I like Coke better than Pepsi! EEK, I just took a side. Run for the hills.

And I find Israel to be a nation more compatible with American values than any other nation in the Middle-East. So we should do whatever is necessary to ensure that it triumphs over the region.

Just like we did for Western Europe and Japan against the USSR and Warsaw Bloc.

Or is your point that we should support Iran and Syria to provide a 'balanced' view in the Middle East???
